Best bit is because it's fitted to the boot lid you don't have to have it on all the time just for track days where it may or may do anything other than look the absolute dogs danglers !!!!

Looking good and nicely proportioned, you're onto to something - will you paint it white or keep it naked carbon? One thing I remembered, when we were testing an Exige at Spa last year we found the car would go faster without the wing, it was creating too much drag, try keeping it low and the aerofoil blade dead level, might be worth talking to Reverie because they've played around with that wing for info. Cheers Ian

Nice one

was worried about the drag
it has quite a large surface area
I'm gonna set it up to run level with the road in it's mid position

just a bit of fun really
also mine is not carbon fiber just the normal plastic

I want to sort the mounting out first before I shell out £400 on a lightweight version

keeps the mind ticking over when I can't sleep

day off tomorrow so off to the model shop for a bit of balsa to make a mock up for fabrication

also have Jimsan rear diffuser in the post

Loving the postman at the moment

The Baron, What about a carbon plinth to support the wing, silly request any chance of a photo shot from above to give an idea of the width of the wing in relation to the sides of the rear clam , I reckon you'll clear turbulent air from the sides and not pick up too much drag from the roofline. Cheers Ian

Looks bloody great mate Imnotworthy

I think you may need to mount it at a bit more of an angle to get the full benefit tho, the blade position (going by the screw fixing positions) looks straight in your photos

Here's an Exige
Posted Image

Which seems to have an angle of about 10 degrees

I think it looks good too...and am considering buying one, would be better if support legs could be wider so you don,t have to go onto engine cover.

Right my mate Danger 7
reckons mounting the blade at a level position is a good place to start
I had the wing bubbled on the car dead level from front edge to back edge
on closer inspection of the s2 wing your see it is concave
I plan to mount the wing on something like I made today
but will attach it to the boot lid with an adjustable plate of some kind
have this sort of thing in mind

Posted Image
sorry about image taken with sh*t fone

I plan to cut 2 slots in the boot lid
then fix this from below
firstly removing some of the top and lower skin of fiber glass
and then re fiber glassing after the bracket has been secured
then sanding down etc and painting
to leave to fins protruding that the wing will be mounted to

I hope this makes sense

I may well make the Holder as shown in Balsa from carbon fiber

maybe the guy making the door cards could help
but this may well cost loads
so I think I'll start in ally

It's really nice to hear loads of positive stuff
I thought I was a bit of a nutter doing this but it seems not :grouphug:
