Is anyone aware if this is possible, as the cost around £150 from LMF. Failing that, is it possible to fit one from say an astra or vectra? The guy at LMF said they were different. Any ideas??

Don't replace it. Just get a blanking plate from Vauxhall (about £4). Take the EGR valve off and replace with the plate.

Then get a cheater from the Z22SE forum (£10).

Lots of threads on this. Here is my tale

You can leave it in place and fit a blanking plate...

Just pay £25 froma scrappy and get one from a 2.2 astra/zafira/vectra Or sandwich a makeshift blanking plate over the hole and keep the EGR in place (as a temporary fix). I used a small disc of a coke can IIRC and put it over the hole, leaving the plunger and the plunger hole free to move.

Another tale of woe here

Order your cheater here

Get the blanking plate from Vauxhall or phone Autovaux and get it delivered.
You need a 13mm spanner or socket.
Remove the EGR valve, mount EGR valve using 1 of the bolts (sandwiching the plate) and turn the valve 90 degrees so the mechanism can still operate.

Like so...

Once you get the cheater get a mate to help if you are not confident. 10 minute job.

Removing and blanking off the EGR vavle and getting the cheater is my next engine mod. When I removed the old intake pipe a while back I couldnt believe the amount of crap that it sends back through the intake. When Andyroo ported the TB the other week it was totally caked in black gunk. I blame a lot of it on this valve. By all means shoot me down in flames if I am wrong.

Its probably why the valve fails, probably gets clogged up with the crap that it is recirculating. Mine was electrically sound but the mechanism was jamming.
I dread to think where all the crap is building up now

I'll get some pics at the weekend. It really is very easy. I am a mechanical nightmare and it took me literally 1 minute.

Just unplug the EGR valve wires and undo the 2 bolts and take it off. Use the same bolts and just put the blanking plate in it's place. Throw EGR valve away.
