Hi,

Just done the following mods:

VSE fitted
EGR removed and cheater fitted
Precat removed.

Sounds great but after 20 mins of driving, EML come on, with following fault code:

P0141 HO2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 2

Should i be worried????

Have you plugged the lamda sensors back, or maybe you've caught one of the wires?

Both plugged back in, but will double check connections in morning.

same happened to me doing the same, seems if the lambdas are old the heater element can be easily damaged

Check you've plugged your post cat sensor back in to the correct socket on the loom. I have on my car and i think others have also a spare socket kicking around on the left hand side of the engine bay its easy to get mixed up and plug the sensor back on to the wrong socket. This happened to me when Luna and I fitted my VSE .

this was my thread when I had the problem http://www.vx220.org...s...c=47475&hl=

Sorry to repeat this topic, but i'm still getting fault code P0141. Replaced precat lambda sensor with new one and fault code still keeps coming back. Could something else, such as slight leak in the exhaust system pre sensor, cause this fault. Can someone confirm this fault code if definitely the precat lambda sensor? Went for MOT and passed emissions test with ease: Fast idle CO 0.03% (limit <=0.2%) Fast idle HC 5PPM (limit <=200PPM) Lambda 1.01 (limit 0.97-1.03) So doesnt appear to be effecting the way the engine is running... or is it. Any suggestions welcome, getting cheesed off keep having to reset the fault codes. Kev

P0141 is the post cat sensor isn't it? Sensor 2? I had that error code and replaced the rear sensor, not the front one. Seemed to fix it.

Jase,

Just read thread replies again and does appear people were referring to the post cat sensor. Juct bloody glad that I purcased two ebay lambdas cheap. Must learn to read properly!

Thanks to everyonewho replied first time round.

Bit of a bump.... Just got an eml light with a fault code of P0141 which lead me to this topic. Does it sound logical as previously mentioned that the post cat sensor has gone? - After checking for loose wires

I presume the easiest way to check would be to take the undertray off, or is the area visible from the top?

Been playing around with mine over the weekend. I found it easier to just take the undertray off - it's difficult to get a spanner to the sensor through the wheelarch let alone enough torque to undo it. You'll probably need the wheel off to remove the sensor completely as the wiring heads up through the wheelarch liner.

Well the dreaded threat of a meet has left my car throwing a paddy yet again! So the fcuker is currently sat on the drive whilst I am now sat on the train. The engine management light came on about 5mins after starting the car and stayed on. So drove home and plugged the Scanguage in... P0141! So in order to get to Newcastle before midnight I cleared the code and took the car for a 'hot lap' of the local B road. Well the code didn't return, which in one way is a good thing... Though I suspect that it will only show once the car switches to normal running once the engine is up to temperature after allowing the engine to cool properly! If the code doesn't show up again when I run it am I safe to assume the car is fine and it was just a single hiccup? Also what prices am I looking at for a O2 sensor should I need to replace it?

you mention taking the car for an mot with the vse fitted. Did you have any issues with the extra noise?

O2 sensor £125 quid from your local stealer.... My EML has been on for about 6 weeks with a rear lambda fault code, but have been told by people far more intelligent than me in these matters it is fine so long as you can put up with the light being on. I finally bit the bullet and ordered one today

I had mine MOTd last month and the VSE wasn't a problem. Actually it was the first time I'd heard mine from the outside (normally sat in it obviously) and quite liked it :D
