I knew it was Saatchi and co

Oh, sorry. Casino is the expert on this, but I should think agencies outsource music selection to specialist companies - after giving them a brief about the ad, the demographic they want to target etc.

Would have thought it would be the creative team who chose the music and then fought like hell to keep it against the client's cleaner's mum's dog's favourite suggestion.

( No offence to any clients on here but you know how you stuff creativity because youre scared of making the wrong decision. And life is easier if you go with a safe option. Although you know the creative team/Agency is right, you still need to show them who's boss and swing your weight. Nevermind the creative team have years of joint experience in these matters you still have to put your size 10 (women included) into it at the last minute. Pleading lack of money or time to come up with an alternative to your drivvel. Honestly, the team will shake hands with you but you know that the minute they raech the pub they are fair cursing your name and never want to work with you again cause youve rurined their baby. And what could have been a cracking ad gets slated in Campaign. But you as a client dont read Campaign so you would never know. Yep its all smiles and polite emails but the rest of the creative department want you to go work on some OAP nappy account where you cant do any harm. And yet you wanna go to all the award shows and strut to the stage to collect a gong or two which shows your chairman you were right and deserve a promotion. But it probably never happen because you told the arty one in the green combats your choice of music was final and you pay the bills youre the client and thats it . Just F'ing do it. )

Saatchi & Saatchi: http://advertfan.com...e-flows-better/

Thanks 'H'...

I knew it was Saatchi and co, just curious as to who selects the backing tracks as the number of adverts of late that are using 60's type R&B means whoever they are must be into 'my' music scene as the average person would never know most of these tracks even existed.......

Another eg is the Beckham Adidas ad....

Beggin is a very well known track / remix im only 25 and know what that track is.....

Not feeling that :) And am somewhat concerned over the size of this child's tongue - not a good look:

For some reason, the Staples 'Need to work from home?' advert with the rowing gets me every time  'Flat blades...'

I just tried to find it on You Tube, but couldn't. However it seems to have spawned a number of home-grown efforts. This one has just reduced me to hysterics    The rowing team are excellent, then there's the complete nonchalance of the other people in the office, and the unexpected man/bike/loud haler combination is a bonus

ETA: Looking at the date of that one, looks like it preceded the ad
