Ive been offered an unused 2.2 ecotec engine & gearbox. Do you think it would be cost effective to get this and add parts from US tuners, or tune using UK tuners? The new engine apeals to me as the car can be put back to original spec. Steve

Na, brand new Vectras are priced slightly higher. He bought it since a Opel dealer had made an error ordering one. So, yes it was in a crate. How much for yours?

There's a brand-new engine and gearbox on Ebay at the moment - "buy it now" for £1000. Does anyone want to buy my second-hand one for £750 so I can buy this new one? ... I thought not! Steve

Which reminds me... The guy who I bought my spare engine from will have another engine/gearbox available soon. It's done about 15k so it's not even run in yet. I guess he'll want £750 for it, but you get EVERYTHING (alternator, starter, etc.). I'll post when it's available. Steve

they are a bunch of lying c**k-s*****g b******s, but you will have the whole story when it ends (if it ever ends) i am very sorry about the bad language, but i´m so *fill in whatever curse you like* about the engine you found. can you post a link to it?. is it a vx-engine or ?. when i bought mine i was told by the man at vegemotors, that it was not exactly the same and he couldn´t tell me what the difference was. they where listed separatly at gm and he said that they wouldn´t do so if it wasn´t a bigger difference. had a couple of phonecalls to gm techdepartment in sweden and they couldn´t either tell me why. opel enginefactory in germany didn´t even bother to answer my emails. //anders
