Evening everyone this is my first post so please go easy on me........ Does anyone on here know of a Silver VX220 with the reg VO51 WSX. I am going to take a look at it in Vauxhall dealership on Saturday and am seriously considering buying it. I am very nervous about the prospect having read all the problems you all seem to have with them, this car has 41K on it but I guess this really doesnt make to much differance?

The dealer also mentioned on the phone that it has missed 3 minor services however they had just spent £600 getting it back up to standard, is this something I should be concerned about even if all the other service stamps are in place?

It does appear to be very tidy and cheap though.....however

2001? missing services? 40ish k miles? I'd buy it if I had around £5k to cover all the bases of it falling to bits within 6 months of taking it on

And you are going to believe a salesman who sells vauxhalls?

If its the one I found (googled the reg) then the salesman isn't going to know fcuk all about a vx. The best thing you can do is get somebody on here to view it with you, or get a garage/tuner who knows their way around a vx220 to look at it for you.

No need to be worried as such, just go into the purchase with you eyes wide open...given you are on here asking the right questions is a pretty good start in that respect thumbsup

Ignore the ormskirk vauxhall bit it is in sheffield....just seems like a bit of a bargain to me. My heart says buy it but my head says the complete opposite, the last thing I need is a whole load of expensive bills to fix things.

Given it's a Vaux dealer you 'should' get a decent warrenty which will cover the main stuff, perhaps try to get more/extra cover out of them to clinch the sale..

Yes they are including 12 months warranty as well which is a huge bonus I guess.

Get it looked at by someone local if you can, but get it bought. At £8995 from a network Q dealer with 12 months warranty you cant go wrong. If that car is proper and nice its great value. Should have had all its recalls done as its in Vauxhalls hands.

I think as many new owners have found - buying a VX for the first time can be a very daunting experiance and it can give peace of mind to pay the extra and buy from a dealer..

TBH there is not that much to worry about and what there is should be covered by the warrenty so providing the basics are all OK then you shouldn't have to many problems.. :)

Check very carefully the terms of your warranty. I got a 6 months warranty with mine, thinking I was safe. It only covered what the warranty company had down as how long work should take (which in my case was half what Vauxhall billed me, and what other places like Courtenay's quoted - I phoned to check), and within that - they would only pay up to £40 or something an hour - Vauxhall were £70 or £90, can't quite remember. So all in all, on something like a rad replacement - which this was - the warranty contribution was a drop in the rather large ocean that was the bill  Edited to say: by the way, none of that was in their Ts & Cs - I only found that out when I came to use them. So I would ring the warranty company up, and ask them questions...

The network Q warranty is really good - I've heard of people having discs and pads replaced under it :D
