I though the Bianco del Coppo was a bottle of mixed grapes. Have you tried a Santorini Roussos?

we got given many years ago 6 bottles of wine. The labels were all ruined. We knew they were something pretty special because you could see that the cork said cheval blanc along its side. The year was unknown though until you open it as its printed under the cork. Well the first was a 72, the second was a 68 and the third was 69. I have never tasted any wine so wonderful. 3 to go :groupjump: So, i agree with you Fab. hands down

I hate wine, especially red (and particularly hate the snobbery that can go with it). Been to a few "tastings" at Vinopolis which was just around the corner from my old office but it's all overrated. Only ever drink it at weddings and big dinners and will drink red if that's all that is left after the bottles of white have been polished off but purely for the alcohol content.

One of the first I ever drunk and always brings back memories of being a kid spending months on end in France on summer hols with my Dad going from vinyard to cellar to vinyard to cellar with red wines all day long for company. May well not be the best - I'm no wine buff - but probably to blame for later life's drunken behaviour!!

Have to admit I'm partial to the juice of the grape. The most memorable: Rochu du Purkar 1963, which was extracted from the vaults of the Kremlin when Gorbachev took power. It was made by Russian peasants for the Kremlin bigwigs when Khruschev was Soviet Premier and JFK was US President. Handwritten Russian labels and tiny homemade corks. No quality control so some bottles were awful but the good ones were truly fabulous. Techieboy, I've got one bottle left if you fancy a glass. thumbsup
