Hi If you look towards the back of the engine bay you will see a big silicone pipe that bends down towards the turbo. You will see a jubilee clip which you will need to undo. once you have undone it just pull it up (mine would not move, going to have another crack later on) Honestly mate go have a feel around and you will soon know what were talking about :) Sam

Sorry about the shaky hand.. it's behind the heat shield. It can be quite a pig to get off the first time. If yours wont shift, undo the other end at the AMM, that gives you lots more wriggle potential. You'd think having taken it of before, next time will be easier but it's not. I gave mine a very light smear of vaseline before I put it back.

Just had a look at mine and was pushed as far down as it could go. Managed to pull it up after a lot of persuasion (I found putting my left foot in the boot and right foot on our recycling bin helped me get just enough leverage on the pipe thumbsup :D ) , but haven't tried it out yet to see if has made any difference. Will have a blast tomorrow. Cheers daggles thumbsup

will pull mine out, good idea!!

Some people on the astra forums also knife edge the metal inlet pipe on new turbos. Though you have to be very careful that the waste doesnt get ANYWHERE near the turbo!!!

I had the same thought so I made this instead

Posted Image

it just stands on top of the inlet pipe and does the same job, no risk of junk in the turbo and you can do it with the turbo fitted

Imnotworthy Imnotworthy Imnotworthy Imnotworthy Imnotworthy

Can you knock any more up??

If I can find any more material, this was the end of a solid bar

Managed to get one more out of the offcut. PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post, let me know whether it fits ok.

Did mine yesterday Was a bugger to get off initially. Took the heat shield off and propped the bonnet higher up to get a better purchase on the pipe. Response does feel better I must admit. This should be up there with the sock mod as a 'must do' modification. Nice one!!!

I have just done this. Took me all of 2 minutes. Turbo is now quicker on pickup and throttle response is a lot better. Superb work thumbsup

Did this today - still getting back into the swing of things, feels smoother and not as "choppy" coming onto boost thumbsup Mine was pushed right down, i also added Daggles "patented" adapter ( Imnotworthy ) so guess it all helps to smooth out the flow - just touches 18psi at overboost. Wasnt enough to loose a mitsu evo up my chuff earlier DOH! Seemed to pull away 1st blat, then the heat must start reeling the power in.... charge cooler and other bits will see to that!!
