Max,

Are you going for the Reverie Motorsport wing , ( http://www.sector111...t_rear_wing.cfm ) . I assume the front splitter will be a typical plyboard DIY jobbie painted black. There are also canards that attach around the headlights area.

Steve

Or you can spec your own from the Reverie website clicky

Steve,

Back on Track has stiffened my front ARB to the hardest setting now. My Nitron Single ways are still just standard springs 375 lbs front, 450 lbs rear, so not great. When I switch to the Lightweight Aluminium hubs I will be able to go lower without effecting the wishbone angle or CV shaft angles. I'm will be dropping the ride height another 15mm or so, fitting a large bespoke front splitter, a new high mounted LOT CF rear wing and upgrading my dampers. That should give me some aero improvements.

Let's face the facts....If Andy Walsh can go around Snet in 1.15 in a class A Elise, then improving driving ability is the major area which will bring genuine lap times tumbling....the car is secondary!

Cheers

Max

Steve,

The front splitter is being designed by a friend. Yes to plywood, yes to black and not sure about the canards, but probably not. Also vents for the front & rear arches. The rear wing is an LOT spec rear wing with aluminium split pylons fixed to the subrame & custom adjustable high bracket, again being sorted out by a friend.

I've just been informed that the full rollcage is 32kg in weight...ouch! it seems a lot of time and effort, money & weight for perhaps just one year's use, although if I needed it just the once it would be priceless! I could convince myself that being seated centrally in the car is safer?

If anyone can help with tracking down some aluminium lightweight hubs, please PM me. Is John at Thorney's using the Eliseparts Gt Hubs on his new Britcar?

MAXR, Before venturing too far, can I suggest you call Colin Blower, he built the only eligible GT3 VX turbo and raced it, he's a wealth of knowlegde and his whole hub/brake/suspension set up is very trick and pure race car some very choice components - massive AP brakes special 3way Nitrons with race spec springs. He's based in Hinckley Leics and a very nice guy, certainly can point you in the right direction. Cheers Ian

I'm suprised that you havent mentioned the Caparo T1.
its certainly not out of your price range :groupjump:

New Evo footage - on road with the 610bhp Caparo T1

Its just you seem to love your trackdays....its certainly something I'd consider if the funds allowed.
Anyhow just a thought.

Andy,

Can you imagine driving that in the wet? or the thing self igniting like it has...or as Clarkson found, virtually no downforce below 120mph but enough above to stick it to a tunnel roof... I thought the X-bow was expensive to fix...

thumbsup

Understandly repairing it will be costly.
Never heard about it suffering from the lack of downforce tho, but I'm sure they would 've sorted out the "self igniting" problem, before it is properly on sale. (Which is more than can be said for Londons Black cabs!!).

(Personally I hope you stick with the VX)

Keep up the good work.
