Hi, Now I'm on the supercharger train, and gathering momentum by the minute... Isn't the Turbo diff a bit more "long-legged" than the NA one? Have any of you guys (Ricky/Anders, etc.) concidered changing your final ratio to accomodate and use the extra power a little better? I'm not saying that I want to go faster, but I barely use first gear as it is with my existing 147 horses, a longer first and second gear would be quite nice... Steve

i have looked at this and i came to the conclusion to do nothing about it. there is no finaldrive that will make your first as long as you wan´t and there is no sets of gears to buy either. my solution in my car to this problem is to rev more :D and used second instead of first. //anders

When I was at Lotus they said that the only reason for the longer legs on the turbo was so it would hit the magical 150 mph before running out of revs... Depends if that floats your boat

I have noticed a that the vxt does about 80mph at 3,000 revs and I think the na did about 3 1/2 at the same speed.

I've only ever gone over 150mph in mine a handful of occassions, it's not something I'd want to do on a regular basis :D

I would imagine that it's pretty scary, Thorney! I wondered what that blue flash of colour was along the M40! I think I'll leave alone for now, based on what Anders says. I still want to keep my fun at speeds below the ton. Hey, it rhymes - I still wanna keep my fun at speeds below a ton No hairy speeds for me in traffic on the M3. (where's my guitar then...) What final drive ratio are you going to, Steve? Is Regal doing it for you? Steve

I think Steve is going the other way for acceleration. It's certainly something I've thought about...

my final drive should be 4.17....and combine that with the 7500rpm can still deliver 150 + but it should reduce the acceleration times ;)

Quaife supply a range of final drive ratios with their gearkits. They may supply the final drive parts separately? Knowing Quaife, it won't be cheap though

quaife dont do anything for the f23 gearbox yet! they only do the limited slip diff! would of fancied a different set of gear ratios! :(
