a fairly long time actually.... it wasnt setup by fast 'n' furious wankers ;)
nitrous dosent kill your engine unless you fcuk it up.... same as fuel wont kill your engine, unless you fcuk it up (same goes for ignition too)

i think he got 330lbft and has had a few mods since then so is guessing (and too high a guess IMO) - correct me if i am wrong please :)

Will see what mine does in errrr... 13 days! Hopefully everything bar internals, astra VXR turbo and kitchen sink!

as you say 330 lbft on the graph, with some 95RON fuel as I got caught low on fuel and the Jet garage was all there was to be had. I was not going to put the car on the dyno that day, but Seloc had been let down by a lot of people and the dyno had been booked and they were desperate for people. Pretty much everyone was getting low ( ie. realistic figures ) compared to factory claims.

I would guess that with that torque figure the boost was being held back from the knock sensor, and with some decent 99RON on the same day get a lot more without making a exagerated guess. Since then a lot has been done to remove parasitic losses directly off the crank, plus further changes to the ignition and air intake. Still original turbo.

Hello all, I looked into Z20LET tuning before starting the process of modding mine, with standard turbo (modified downpipe) max was 260 bhp. With VXR Hybrid 295-300 bhp (with full 3" exhaust system), the key issue is engine longevity, sure the boost can be wound up but there is a price to pay sand cast pistons don't like heat and hole pretty quickly as a result. Using forged pistons and oil spray cooling helps piston life enourmously, reliability is what I wanted not just max power, its expensive for a start to replace engines and not to mention time consuming so one addition is water injection to help keep temperatures down if you really want to run at max boost. Its fitted to mine and it cost around GBP500 and does help to cool, theoretically running a Hybrid with water injection (assuming 98RON is used) will achieve 320 bhp but the turbo is now the restriction, soooo Garrett G28 is the next step and that's where it does get very expensive. Cheers Ian

of course it does all depend on the revs required to make that power..... ie a std internal'd engine wouldnt happily make 350bhp @8K would it ;)

the real question is how much max duty cycle do you want to run the injectors
