When getting an insurance quote, they want to know one of the following for modification type: *Suspension (not lowered) *Suspension (lowered <5cm) *Suspension (lowered 5-12.5cm) Well it's adjustable, so that's a toughie. What did others state?

Let's not confuse mm with cm. So you're saying less than 5cm then?

Yeah but I'm interested in buying a VX that has them fitted already. Can't be worse than standard susp surely...?

Well... I had a Spax Shocks conversion fitted to my MGC 20 years ago and they still work...

I don't think Spax are that bad but suspension is all about testing and personally don't think they had enough to get them right. We went through 7 different spring variables in 5 months of testing on the Nitrons (but they'll still never be perfect for everyone). Interestingly enough the MD of Racelogic came back from a test drive of mine and said it was the best set up car he's ever driven.......AmD now use my settings as a base when fitting Nitrons. (Scared Stiff I imagine would do the same).

I put my Spax'ed car side by side with Ratspants and DanL's and we couldn't tell the difference in ride height, so if it has been lowered (which Regal said it had by about 25mm) then its barely noticeable. Chris

25mm is about right, my VX is dropped more like 50mm at the moment and the front end is constantly scraping :(
