Why cant the normal tb be fitted? Just doesn't work with the z20 wiring?

I presume the ECU needs to know the closure characteristic of the TB so has to be one it already works with or has to be programed in.

Got a 56mm z20 tb in the garage, if you found a 60mm butterfly valve then you could probably port it all and fit that... But still 8mm down... Which isnt the way to go

Ideally a nice 70mm will do if it is not cable driven.

It was Jon who said I would need one, so I take it that the z22se 68TB won't work for some reason.

what does klasen run on his 600 bhp speedster?

I thought that

Just to add some info to this thread. There are 3 sources of enlarged TBs that I know of: 1. Courtenay. 2. 888Dan on the Astra owners club 3. Another guy on AOC. I am currently looking into other cars that run Bosch 1.5.5 and see if any of them have larger TBs. Though a like for like replacemnet may not work as there may be a calibration table in the ECU that would need adjusting.

Well, I've just sent my TB off to someone I've been in contact with off AOC (for enlargeing from 57mm to 62mm). Price £120 (inc P&P). I will let you know in 3 months time if it works hopefully. Nev.

You can buy a brand new 62mm off eBay for £320 The problem is this will reduce our power alot nick so we need a 68mm or bigger! Like I said biggest I have found is a 64mm which is also cheap but still not big enough :( Really don't wanna go cable throttle!

stupid non mod status can't fix the links above

anyway, Audi B7 RS4 , iirc has 90mm ETB , probably the biggest single TB before they go dual TB with the RS5 70mm

some useful comparisons on turbo apps

Yea, I thought about going dual too, as I have 2 TBs in my garage. The wireing would need to be adapted (and maybe a small PCB with some lectronics to union the 2 position sensors feedback)? Would anyone here know how to do this ? Nev.

Joe, I'd be very interested to know if you can just plug it in and it works - please update this thread when you find out :)
