It's time to upgrade my standard seats to Carbon Fibre. Does anyone have any experience of these >TMS Carbon/ Kevlar Race Seat< Quality / support etc.

Looks like the MOG seat - good price with the way the € has gone to the £ A few people have said they make access very awkward for normal use, so worth checking The reverie ones are also work a look (tho you'd only get single skin at than price point Tillet also do a version (which were <£1000 inc new subframes when I was looking) Wprth a good search around Seloc, quite a bit of info on there (including a worrying thread on how certain seats can shatter in an accident!)

I have looked at the MOG seat but what has put me of is one the members on here is/was struggling to get the passenger seat to fit :o

The reverie ones are also work a look (tho you'd only get single skin at than price point

I sat in one of the Reverie ones today at the PH/Autosports show, and I asked the MD who was on the stand if they could offer a show discount, which he said he could (7.5%). I then tried the Tillett B5 on the Hot Lap stand and it felt a lot better fit than the Reverie one at half the price, ok they are carbon / frp instead of 2 skin carbon on the Reverie mulsanne, but they can make them to pretty much what spec you like so I will give them a ring tomorrow if I get chance to see what they can offer and what discount as they couldn't confrm at the time.

Tillet also do a version (which were <£1000 inc new subframes when I was looking)

Wprth a good search around Seloc, quite a bit of info on there (including a worrying thread on how certain seats can shatter in an accident!)

I have read that before thumbsup thats why I won't be going for single skin carbon, Ideally Carbon / Kevlar mix.

They're defo Mog seats...same as mine. They are bar far the best for the Track for the money, but as has been said, they are awkward to get into.

Dunno but it's a *lot* more than 2kg, I'd guess more like 8kg from hefting them out a couple of times.

I think I saw these being fitted to someone's VX when I was up at TMS last year. Bear in mind they were having great difficulty mounting them far enough back for the driver (who was very tall). If you are tall enough to use the last 2-3 positions of the seat it may be worth checking with them to see if they've resolved this issue, or you'll be buying a very expensive lounge chair.

VX220 part of thew website is hopelessly out of date I'm afraid, sorry. We've now done our own seat brackets for these seats (they are MOG ones) so we can fit them pretty much anywhere you want now. The only issue for very tall people or people with long legs is what harness bar they do/don't want, but we've managed to get 6 ft 4 people in there without too many issues.

John, can you please give more details and prices if poss on your seat brackets please. It was me having trouble fitting the pass seat with the current brackets supplied. Maybe i havent put too much effort to getting it in.

But would be keen to see what you have fabricated chinky chinky

I have made an executive decision today and purchased a pair of Tillet B5 Carbon Fibre / GRP seats from Hot Lap. I have taken onboard the various comments regarding the high sides on the Mogs and the consequent problems with access and egress, and as I have my hardtop on rain / shine they didn't seem the right choice for me. The Reverie ones are over twice the price of the Tillett ones which I could not justify as I actually prefer the fit of the Tillett's. Anyway they will be delivered Friday, so all being well if I have time I will install them at the weekend.

I will also post all of the respective weights.

I read somewhere that Tillet are just finalising their B6 seat, although no idea what it offers over the B5

It was my car that Snoopstah saw in TMS last year. Yes I am tall 6`4". The guys at TMS tried hard to get the seat as low and far back as possible but it was still not comfortable to drive. I almost gave up and asked them to put the standard seats back in! The problem is the brackets. I took the seat out back at home and had some new high grade aluminium brackets fabricated. The seat is now virtually on the floor and as far back as practical to the harness bar. I now have loads of room and the seats are very comfortable. They are a bit of a pig to get in and out of so i couldnt recommend them for everyday use but for trackdays they are superb.

Keep us posted on this, what brackets/seat runners are you going to use? I'm quite tempted on these, tried some other Tillet seats in a Westfield and they were really nice. Good price as well compared to the Reviere seats.

Hey Hicky do you have tonnes more room? I managed to get my standard seat back another notch which has given me loads more room (6 foot 5!), but more would be good, particularly if I sat a bit lower down...

Sorry for the hijack!

Nice seat Mr Cyphre, a friend of mine has them on in his Audi engined S2 Elise, and swears by them, good quality finish as well.

Keep us all posted please on any fixing issues, and which runners you ended up using, Phoenix had to adapt the brackets/runners supplied with the seats, even though they were supposed to be for Elise S2 fitment
