I picked my seats up from the couriers on Saturday and installed them today. The quality / finish / strength is excellent. Installation was no different from the standard seats ( i.e. easy if you have 10”long fingers that are1/2” diameter and have the dexterity of a surgeon!). You have to order the brackets separately for each seat, I opted for the aluminum passenger rails and the steel drivers slide (no aluminum ones in stock) with the drivers side if you want the sliding adjustment you need to use the existing adjuster rail that comes with the standard seats.

And so to the weights.

Standard leather drivers seat = 8.6kg (Excludes the adjuster rail that I used again)
Standard leather passenger seat = 9.2kg

Tillett B5 = 4.4kg
Aluminum passenger rails = 716g
Drivers Slide = 544g

Standard Seats = 17.8kg
Tillet Seats & Brackets = 10.06kg

Total weight saving = 7.74kg

As I had already removed my stereo I took the opportunity to remove my rear speaker drivers whilst the seats where out saving a further 1kg.

One observation as the seats have a higher back than standard the seat, they do not sit in the inbuilt headrest recess (See the images below) although this suits my driving position and I am 6ft, it may be necessary to remove the inbuilt headrest.

I haven’t purchased the seat cushions, but with using the CG Lock you are held firmly in place around your waist so no problems with sliding forward. I only had a quick run around the block so haven’t had chance to test the support over a period of time but initial impressions are that the fit is excellent.

Any quires feel free to ask.

P.s. Thankyou to Hot Lap.com for there first rate service.

I take it that you got the following brackets then? Driver side: HLB5-DAS Passenger side (RHD): HLB5-PRUK What puzzles me is that Hot-Lap lists two different brackets for passenger side. One for LHD and one for RHD cars. But then they only have one set of brackets for drivers side. Did you spot any difference, i.e. that the passenger side brackets were angled? Looks great by the way, and nice weight saving as well chinky chinky

Ian, Has it made any difference to your driving position and the amount of room you have? Trying to find ways to give my tall self a bit more space!

i have the reveries and they seem to sit alot lower than the standard seats although its a pretty expensive way of getting extra room

Design of the TMS seat brackets is similar to the Tillet ones shown above ie they span across the space between the ally boxes to which the seat brackets are bolted. The floor pan between the ally boxes is lower and the TMS seats will fit in this area. Seat backs are now below and slightly behind the standard headrest pads. Will try and post up some pics at the weekend.

The drivers side bracket mounts onto the existing adjuster that comes with the OEM seat, which I would assume is the same for LHD / RHD. The diference between the passenger brackets for LHD / RHD cars I assume would be the mounting location of the seat belt clip.

Looks great by the way, and nice weight saving as well chinky chinky

If anything the leg room is reduced length wise due to the fact that the Tillett seat back is taller than the OEM seat therefore does not fit into the fixed headrest recess, however this could be removed (There are some threads on how to do this) giving a good few inches of additional legroom.

There you go this is the best image I have at present detailing the proximity of the seat to the fixed headrest, which I would say is roughly 10mm.
If you are at the Waterman meet on the 1st Feb you can have a look then.

Those seats look fantastic! Quick Q for you VX gurus - if I wanted to fit a drivers seat and harness (and leave passenger seat - need to be able to fit a toddler seat now and then) - what is involved - understand I would have to buy a harness bar, seat and harness - but is the only VX specific bit seat adapter (and will any adapter fit any seat), and do different harness bars fit different harnesses? I fancy a Tillet B6 with Scroth harnesses (http://www.fluke-mot...ham-p-1154.html) Can I then buy the harness bar for the VX from Hangar 111 and seat adapter from Thorney, or do I have to buy an adapter from Hot Lap (or will a B6 not fit a VX)?? Sorry for all the questions :)

As you'll have a seat with proper cutouts for a harness, then you can just get a regular wraparound harness bar from TMS/Hangar111/wherever and use the harness of your choice.

Might be worth getting the Schroth Elise harness from MSAR as they are shortened to fit the Elise/VX without a load of excess harness.
