X2 pin 6 is the +12v from the ecu relay in the boot, also joined to pin 4 of X2

just out of interest vocky, is the relay you mean referred to as 'K18'? cant find any reference to any of the 3 remaining wires at all! i do believe you of course, i just need to see them on the diagram so i can work out what to do next?.....
cheers

Christ alive, fiddling with wiring looms is my idea of insanity, good luck John
ha ha cheers Nev, i may need it!
nah, seriously there are a few critical differences between the 2 looms, but nothing major that cant be sorted, properly.
will update my progress thread in a few days/weeks when i've made a bit of progress.
oh, and vocky, thanks again bud! i'm totally lost in the wiring diagrams i have!! numerous n/a ones, numerous VXT ones & an astra VXR to go with it!!!
cheers fellas,
john

wiring is the fun bit, isn't it
![]()

vxT X2 pin 3 (from relay K16) connects to X33 pin 3
vxT X2 pin 7 goes to S28, the clutch pedal switch
vxT X2 pins 4 and 5 are linked whereas pins 4 and 6 are linked on the 2.2
vxT pin 6 goes to fuse FB7 whereas on the 2.2 it's pin 5
so it looks like you need to swap over the wires on X2 pins 5 and 6
cheers for confirming that, i've got most of it worked out, but nice to have some back up! IIRC the X2 pins 5 & 6 are flat green with no tracer.
ive had to completley cut off the grey connector off the turbo extension loom, as it only has 4 wires & the VXR has 5! (different connector & the 5th wire goes to the clocks) so now i need a VXR wiring diagram for the clocks! i doubt i will need the 5th wire, but would be nice to confirm!
i don't mind the wiring at all, gives me something to think about!
thanks for the help bud

Ahhh... I remember the day I took out the snips and cut my first ECU wire.i don't mind the wiring at all, gives me something to think about!

You probably know this already - Make sure you secure any modified wiring to the car's body/frame or to another secure static object. Wrap cables and joints well. If your mods are near heat and your adding addition wiring be careful choosing the cable plus search for the oil/grease cloth used in the industry. Vibration and heat will break soldered or screw connected joints over time if they are not adequately protected, wiring in a car does tend to need a sizeable amount of projection and it is typically under estimated. Nothing worse than having to search for a bad connection a couple of months down the road....

thanks for the tips! i'm going to just get them connected, to make sure evrything runs ok, then go round and solder up properly with heat shrink. and like you said, get everything secured....
vocky, i'm using a VXR engine loom with VX220 turbo ecu, so hopefully i can bypass the VXR immobiliser bits, just retaining the VXT stuff thats needed. not entirely sure what to do about that at the minute, once i get the engine in i can try it and see what goes on! i' aware i'm more than likely going to run into a problem or 2 here and there, but thats what makes it fun!
cheers guys,
john

the astra vxr wiring loom has the immobiliser built into the dash clocks, you might be better off using a vxT engine loom and matching ecu or you could have a few immobiliser issues
after playing about today, i hate to admit it, but i think your right! is the VXT engine loom exactly the same as an astra turbo one? reason i ask is that vauxhall are f*ckin useless and dont even know what the engine loom is, so trying to order one from them is like trying to learn japanese!

spoke to them too, who didnt seem to know a deal either! i only want to know if the injection loom shown below is complete, i.e with all plugs and has the ECU plug on it, i am assuming its the same as the astra, so i can't see how its so bloody hard to find out? i think i need part 1, indent K6X?

you say x2 4 and 6 are +12v to power ecu? they are the same colour which makes sense.. but then what is x2-1?
and what are the rest?

cheers, Richard
