And for that matter... does anyone know what was done on the VX originally?

Regardless of paint type used; a newly painted car should not sit under a cover for the 1st 6 months after being sprayed (as advised by a good friend of mine...2 now I come to think of it...that runs a bodyshop and also specialises in plastic/ grp cars). If it helps at all Ali; I know of a cracking secure indoor storage place (that you can come/go from as you please) in Upton that charges roughly £30 a month

 mine been sitting under a cover for many years and have had the front clam respray three times :D and still look
my sprayer baked them so well and he does all the work for the btcc bmw team so i hope he know's what he's doing
my clam was done by ventureshield a week later and now three month after the paint look fine
when they apply the shield it take a month to dry properly and does shrink during the process

I'm sure you could run something cheap up eg buy some fleece (ETA fleece material; not sure sheepskin would be adviseable...) and attach it to a piece of tarpaulin of the same size, then just weight the sides down with bricks - or sew in elastic if you're handy with a sewing-machine

Cellulose is still widely used and is not reserved to rattle cans but I'm pretty sure I heard something about a new law so cellulose can only be used on commercial vehicles. Which will mean you'll no longer be able to buy rattle cans from halfrauds!

 Another law to help the british people :beat:

Ali... sorry for hijaking your thread!

Yeah I've looked on ebay, it always concerns me that the car on the picture is 4 x the size of the VX. I want to see how it'll look on my car! I bought a cover once of ebay and it swamped the car, so don't want to make the same mistake again.
