Got a week off so having a go at some faux suede for the dash etc, including the centre gear surround. Should I leave the gear level surround the black perforated leather already there (assume OEM) or is there a nice faux/suede/alcantara one I can get?? Web links appreciated if you have bought one yourself? Cheers Rob

I think there are some on ebay You may find it's awkward to attach to the console tho as the OEM comes with a supporting piece of plastic around the base

This has started to get a bit elaborate now - thinking momo gearknob and gaiter, getting a new carpet set off of Morgan on here - still waiting for the suede to come!! Really want to spruce up a very tired interior. Just need a little bit more help of where to source some very odd bits to complete:

The biggest bit - the sill plate. Mine is broken and would like one that isn't. Have read they are about £100 and not always available(??) Can I get one easily for slightly less money or should I get this and the other one covered or flocked??

Missing a rubber plug in my pedal, can these be had??

Posted Image

The centre console thing attaches to this point, I don't know what they are but need 2. Can you help identify what they are and where they come from?

Posted Image

Bars looking tired, what can I repaint with??

Posted Image

Need 2 of the sticker things to go over the side mirror holes, anyone know where from??

Posted Image

Not a question - I've found a retrimmer in Enfield that will replace the whole edge of the trim with matching material for £70 (cash) called B-trim - to be done in a couple of weeks - just my contribution there!! Nice and local for me and might help the London guys on here!!

Finally, no picture, but would like to cover the stack surround in suede - does it remove on its own or is it a stack out job?

Thanks guys

Rob

Waste of time painting the hood bars mate. You have to flex them to fit and remove; so whatever you put on is going to crack off in no time. If you're fussed about them try some Autoglym trim gel

you could get some sprung steel ones made. Probably cost ££s though if you do find a place group buy??

I made mine out of black gaffa tape (or whatever it was) by stenciling a circle round an appropriately sized coin.

Great thanks guys, so far so good!! The whole roof bars thing is a bit anal granted, prob just a good clean and buffing. Has anyone got a nice sill for sale or know where to get one (autovaux), know what the plastic clips are around the centre console and whether the stack surround removes or not without the stack in tow??

Halfords have them. "Plastic trim clips" or something like that they're called.

The side sill you might want to look at fitting a turbo one, has a different section at the end. Its a more useful coin pocket and tweater. Best bet would be to pick one up on the forums, ebay, or someone splitting a car (Fab and mandarin both have threads running at the moment). I think the stack unit is a bit of an all-in-one jobbie. All the dashboards I have seen covered left the stack alone, this may have been for a reason. Saying that, snoopstah has fitted an aftermarket stack display etc. into his, and have also seen guides to changing the LED colours so they can't be that hard to take apart nicely thumbsup

I've bagsied Fab's ones, and Mandarin's look mashed - and I think someone has bagsied them (just to save the OP from looking for those two particular threads)

Once you've got the dash top cover out, the whole binnacle can be removed by disconnecting the multiplug at the back of the unit and undoing 2 (or possibly 4) small bolts. Once the whole binnacle has been removed, you can then remove the sealed Stack unit from it by removing a few screws. Sorry, long time since I did it so can't remember the exact number of fixings.

Some folks (mainly speedster folk I think) have leather covers over them thumbsup

Would consider the covers myself if I could find where to get them!

Found it, 98 euros, (click on speedster top right, then click interior)

I realise that alcantara/ suede/ flock dash tops get rid of the reflection onto the screen....But doesn't the dash top just turn into a mess of grit/ gravel/ flies and other road shite in time?
