The (or at lest my version) Pipercross kit simply attaches to the existing [restrictive] inlet pipingNot sure if any one has gone the cone filter route. AFAIK most have gone for full replacement induction systems or enhanced panel filters in the existing air box.

you should buy a 90degree silicon bend and then get some drain pipe and attach the filter to the end, cheap induction kit then
mine cost 35 quid all in

What about the wires which attach to a sensor in the standard plastic pipe? What do you do with that?

drill a hole and fit the sensor into the drain pipe
