We HAVE to play this game on-line against each other. It's brilliant. Not much in the way of fancy graphics / supercars to drive e.t.c. but dynamically superb. The car actually seems to behave like a real car which is a change to many driving simulators.

So who accepts my challenge? I've only played for a couple of hours last night so I'm rubbish but it was a laugh. It must be even better with 'live' people in the other cars. I've not figured out how to start the internet game thingy but it can't be that difficult. I've seen a thread on the forum about this game before so there must be someone else who's tried it?

Is this the one they play on SELOC? I'll give it a go! Not sure my PC is up to it but I'll download it this evening and see what happens. If it's any good then £12 is not bad for a bit of online action. I paid £25 for the PS2 network adapter and haven't used the bloody thing yet.

Minimum requirements stated are a 1Ghz processor and DirectX 8.1 I've not tried it though. My PC is a 1.7Ghz P4 / 256Mb RAM and it runs fine. You can run it off your own server too so it's fast and reliable and you can have private races without fighting for nicknames e.t.c. Prolly need good bandwith available tho - something I don't have

you on broadband? I have 800 MHz PC but loads of ram (about 700mb) and a reasonably good graphics card so we'll see what happens this evening...

Oh no! After the many hours on GT3 on PS2 and recently Counterstrike on online you gits are gunna get me to waste more of my valuble time playing games. Huff. Fantastic!

Tried it last night - looks pretty good. I had to run at a reasonably low res with loads of the fancy textures and dithering switched off but it was still ok for 25fps or so. I like the way you can do practise runs with the little bars to show the forces on each wheel - good for setting up brake balance, ARB, etc. I think I'll get the full version, those caterham stlye cars look cool! It'll keep me going till GT4 comes out...

I started downloading the full version yesterday morning but when I got home the file was corrupt and only half the size it should have been? Have restarted the download this morning and fingers crossed for this evening!! Got home from the pub last night and had to have a quick practice before I went to bed - up till 12.30! And I still can't stop spinning it on the harpin after the start/finish straight! Why is it that you can drive sensibly for 8 laps or so then feel the need to try donuts or see how many head-on collisions you can have by driving the wrong way round the track?

Is the online racing any good?? I have had some before that seem to suffer from serious lag. Let me get some practice in, then i'll try to race you !!!

On line racing is great Set the car up or just load the standard setup in the top right corner and that will do. The FWD's are great for beating lamers in the RWD's

I had a go a couple of days ago on the demo version for about an hour or so and couldn't get on with the FWD car really. It was all over the place. The understeer seemed easy enough to control by lifting off but it all seemd a bit wobbly and difficult to make it go where I wanted. I found the RWD easier to get the power down out of a bend and point in the right direction. I think the problem controlling with the keyboard is that when you touch the power mid bend it jams the throttle wide open and you lose the front. Similarly when you brake for a bend it jams the brakes on full and you lose control of the car. Would be easier with analog controls I guess...

FWD car is shite isn't it? I was keeping quiet because I was rubbish at driving it and I thought this was just an accurate reflection of my skills!! I also wasn't going to mention my force feedback steering wheel and pedals?

Played online against some other people a little bit this afternoon. I was using the FWD car but using the mouse to steer which seems pretty good once you get the hang of it (need to be inside the car though, looking at the steering wheel). Managed a few 5ths and 6ths out or 10 or so cars... Good fun! Might get the full version tomorrow...

Thinking off doing the same - though that would mean getting a ff wheel as well... Tried the RWD car as well - not sure with a mouse as you have look at the wheel to know where the wheels are pointed so putting full power down with the left mouse button usually means a spin 'cos you've got a bit of lock on. Tricky, but I think it would be brill with an analogue accelerator and FF wheel.

I've been a bit busy recently and only got round to installing the full version last night. I went on line, paid for a license, got an unlocking code and started the game but it keeps saying it cannot connect to the internet. I disabled McAfee entirely but still doesn't work. I guess you all got yours working okay? I had a quick hour on the demo version to make up for it. Have been trying desperately to get below the 1:44.00 level in the RWD car but just can't do it. Got an infuriating 1:44.06 instead!! I'm having trouble getting the power down out of corners. It seems that no matter how gentle I am I get wheelspin and have to catch the slide once passing the apex.
