It would be interesting to see the breakdown in parts \ labour. I suspect it's the labour that's putting the price so high, but can't say for certain. T

Around £250 more for a stage 2 conversion with Harrop (with ~100mm pulley to leave power below 250bhp) thumbsup :)

Jon, I'll give you a call to talk through a couple more things early next week, then after that I should be on the list (if there is a list yet )

that stuff is needed for a supercharge kit unless you go stage 1.... look at courtenays website :)

Yes, but other than that what would be required? Without labour?

Not that I am likely to be able to do this group buy, but what I would be interested in knowing is an approximate cost for a 250hp Harrop system all in except for exhaust and pre-rad. In my case I would want the price for the bits without installation.

I am already planning to install pre-rad lines in my project while the fiberglass sills are off. ;) Has no one tried running them alongside the main rad pipes?

Hi Mandarin,

Is that what Jon has quoted you, also are there any other considerations. i.e. can it be restricted enough just by the pulley size or would there also be a need to reduce the rev limit or any other such measures? I am currently weighing up my options to get supercharged.....

Cheers,

C

It is, the GM unit is surprisingly expensive to start with! Although I guess in reality there's not actually that much difference between them production wise, and no doubt Harrop don't have the same level of overheads to absorb as the GM / Eaton line (presumably GM sell on at a mark-up from Eaton )
That price difference may be subject to variations in exchange rate / GM pricing structure over time tho

For that price difference I'd be mad not to!

I already have a decent spare head (ported / oversize valves / double valve springs), and a 2.5" Piper with 4-1 sat around doing nothing at the mo

So then just a case of rods and pistons and see what it makes with a smaller pulley (and pref balance delete so I can up the rev limit to ~8k :D)
