It is a lot of money for any car, it is best I do not add up what I have spent :o lol even the latest mods are about £3K (clutch & fly etc / fancy rear toe links / quick rack / dics / pads / more suspension tweeks) And as Kip has said I have spend about 4 trillion hours tweaking / testing and replacing. Hate to think how much it would cost for a specialist garage to have done the work. Suspect if you look at the cost of the TMS stage 5 it would give you an idea lol. And of course having such a low lag turbo means even the GT28 turbo option would be no quicker, certainly not on track / road. Sure I could squeeze a bit extra on the strip ;) maybe on my next vx if I get one But look round at cars that sprint as quick / look as good and handle brillliant and £20k is a bargain (well I think) ask my friend in his GT3 RS lol Would hate to have to break her :( DG

I thought I'd chip in too. You seem to have built up a reputation and are held in very high esteem. I would have liked to have had the chance to meet you and your VX, as I have read only positive things, and it sounds like something that really should be seen. Well all the best with the sale, and good luck with whatever you buy (if you struggle to find a quick 4 door, I have a Saab 95 Aero up for sale  ) :grouphug:

Thanks, but all this good work is a rumour I started LOL I certainly will still be about and most members have my mobile :) made some fantastic friends and like minded people and just because I do not have a vx I will still offer free advice as always and try to talk sense when it comes to modding as well including nice cheap high quality work and pass on my discounts. So I know the R5 turbo inside out / the VAG 1.8 20VT engine & managment and now the vx220 :D I am in danger of becoming usefull...........................well maybe I was invited by Redline at Nurburgring to their thrash / test day and would have been great to get some more recent timing with the paddle clutch fitted and other mods but sure they will contact the new owner if they are interested. Small world moment when someone comes upto you and comes out with 'are you Duncan Grier? thought I was in trouble lol - turned out they remembered me from my Renault 5 / audi conversion. They wanted to do a feature on the vx while I was there as they had the ring booked to them for an hr but was not so keen to stack the car 1st day of holiday and it was VERY dirty. They were doing a feature on a std focus ST and modded against the clock DG

Extra earth kit - basically decent earth connection to key components on the car as the std earths are known to cause issues sometimes. New lamba fitted DG

Poor earth to ECU steve :) Changed the lamba and solinoids but not the reason. Managed to get some time to look at it properly and found the earth to ECU a bit corroded. Cleaned that and all the other earths, reseated / cleaned the connectors and spot on :) DG
