Mine did in excess of 60mpg with me driving like an old lady on the way to CS for pulley alignment and mapping. Needless to say I've never seenthat figure since! I haven't had any oil loss yet though but the motor is only about 3.5k old.

60 mpg i am sure you have made a mistake somewhere

On track at Oulton I managed 15 mpg over 96 track miles with a bog standard N/A, filled it up (brimmed it) before I started at the Shell garage on the crossroads, by lunch time it was showing 6 litres remaining and 100 miles on the trip, well happy with that result! :D

Yeah, 60 mpg! I drove from Macclesfield to spalding on less than a tenner. i thought the guage was playing up but petrol gushed out the filler when I tried to get more in. I did nurse it down as the belt alignment hadn't been done so I was less than 2000 rpm all the way. Drove like a granny (as usual). I'd say 25-30 mpg now its in normal use.
