So I'm playing Racedriver Grid (learning Spa), and the back straight at Spa will undoubtedly induce max velocity from our little plastic cars. Just got me thinking... How fast will our supercharged brothers actually go...? Anybody (under laboratory conditions) found out just how fast the supercharged cars will go...?

fundamentally depends on rev limit and tyre size.... the power/torque of anything 200bhp+ will have is enough to hit almost any theoretical top speed in a vx/elise. note thats a very broad comment and something geared for 300mph wont hit it without K's of power

rev limited or MPH limited? I'd no idea they had an MPH limit if they do, everything has an RPM limit. The gearing isn't particularly high in the VX220 what does 5th give at 3000rpm? Is it about 70mph if so 6500rpm is a bit over 140mph.

I swear I have read Vocky do a run down on this recently, covering all the usual gearbox's (turbo, N/A and 6 speed) and engine speeds for what mph. Can't find it now :( Hopefully he'll appear soon and dazzle us with his mathematical magic

www.slindborg.host.sk the custom gear ratio bit should work (I know the normal side is broken) if you look at the F23 info bit and use yer noggin ;)

Turned out there is a seperate speed limiter on the ECU which kicks in at 242km/h :) Haven't driven an unlimited version yet, but at least I now know I can get 242km/h with the current state of trim :)

Around 151 mph according to Mark

with a 6850 rev limit 160mph is the max speed for a 2.2 vx / sc or 150mph with a 4.17 diff

That's not impossible to handle of course. Might be good to consider undersized main bearings if you go much higher than that. Oil shear in the bearings can be an issue. By reducing the diameter you reduce the surface speed.
