Having heard and read about the miseries surrounding fuelling and uprated engines and all that malarky and having seen some peoples solutions including a secondary pump and swirl pot I thought it was about time we had a direct fit replacement in tank that ticked the boxes. Glenco have had a standard VX220 in-tank pump/sender unit off me and have developed a direct replacement fit kit that uprates the pump to a 255 litres per hour pump that is good for up to 500BHP (they say). This is ideal for all VXs, tubby or NA and will work as a replacement for a tired pump at less than a standard replacement part as well as being ideal for the S/C conversions and modded tubbies. This will not need a secondary pump or swirl pot I am told as it delivers all the fuel needed. It is a DIY kit but is not totally straight forward but if you can get the tank out yourself then I am sure you can work this out. £92 plus the vat plus P&P for the pump and fitting kit from Rob at Glencoe on 01784 493555. I have nowt to gain from this and already have my pump being delivered. I will not run a group buy as I am sure some smarta... will find a pump a bit like it on eBay for £10 less to be shipped from Hong Kong and I can't be arsed to deal with that. If you want one call Rob.

Good stuff Mike ;) My TOP tip is if you are dropping the tank (you wil have to) open up the inspection hole so that if you ever need to take it out in the future its a seats / rear trim only job ;) I have ran an inline pump and swirl pot for my solution (nothing available at the time) and did not have the time to get something made up or tank out etc :( kind of wish I had in 1 respect so only running 1 pump and lighter :P advantage of swirl pop for fuel starvation on corners but have the baffled tank anyway lol Be interesting to know the spec but sure they know what they are doing and at that price worth putting in even if your replacing stock pump. Great price Mike, well done DG

I have more of a need than Pro Alloy and just knew a man that can do this sort of thing.

I'm not the star, Rob is. I just know the right people.

Maybe they should have tried sending the unit to the guys at Glencoe. I do believe there is now a solution for the Exige however.

The solution for the Exige is to simply fit the Cup 260 pump which is an upgrade over the standard exige s pump.

My exige is still is running the standard pump which is starting to struggle at 300bhp....sinclaires picked up on it at a dyno day before xmas and suggested the cup 260 pump to me (around £130).

Thanks Cliffie, it's always great when someone actually provides a solution on here. However, I am guessing that dropping the tank out of the bottom of the car is a big job - is there a write up on here somewhere with a ballpark time to do the entire job? I think I would be keener to install Rob's new pump in the old tank instead of adding the extra weight and space requirements of a swirl pot and secondary pump.

Budget half a day if your doing it on your own for the 1st time Nev - Not so much hard just a bit of messing about and takes longer than you would think. Extra pump and swirl pot do not add that much but does still add :( Did I mention I have a 49.5Ltr tank now lol - 1.5ltr reserve swirl pot ;) oh and I am NEVER getting fuel starvation with a baffled tank and big swirl pot :D
