Sorry for the thread resurrection.... yet again,but....

Has anyone ever tried replacing the washer jets for the mist/spray type rather than a single jet?

I have tried the 'spray-bar' upgrade option and having gotten rather pissed off with the wiperblades crap sweeping of the central band of the screen. I have therefore returned to my trusty old Bosch 24" blade, but am conversely annoyed with the washer jet coverage on the screen so have been trying to see if there was a twin-jet alternative, but sadly not. (If I could find a suitable RX-8 style 4 jet item Posted Image I wouldn't hesitate in swapping - as they are possibly the best part of the car)

I did however find in the Chav-speed section of Halfords website these:

which seem to be a similar fitment to the standard jets, but with just a shorter thread. So despite the chavvy-ness I may just have a play this week for all of the cost of a packet Fish and Chips. Or am I missing something?

Perhaps I'll just go to Lotus and get an S2 blade/arm

I just ordered one from Bell & Colvill today, my current wiper does absolutely nothing! They worked out cheaper than the Lotus dealer in Edinburgh plus it was in stock.

My wiper also does nothing except smear the muck on my screen further around it.
Can i ask you - what exactly did you order from bell and collvile because i would like the same part.
Can you order on line?

Thanks

If you've already got the later style arm, just fit the drivers side wiper blade from a 1994 Renault Espace. It's exactly what Elise Parts use. The sprayer is integrated into it and it costs about £10 for the blade online. Then quick trip to Halfords for a metre or two of washer tubing and you're sorted. Tee the tubing into the existing washer jets (if you want to retain them), run the hose up inside the arm and connect to nozzle on the integrated jet. Works a treat and is all but invisible.

I'll give that a go cheers thumbsup The washer nozzles on mine have been chewed away by the mice at my last place, so the flow is more reminiscent of a geyser than a washer jet at the moment. I don't think that will get me through an MOT, even if I do know the examiner.

you mean the one that's part of the wiper? as I said above I prefer the spray bar off the citroen BX rear wiper as that will clip on the wiper arm allowing you to use whatever blade you want. I'm currently using a 22" goodyear Assurance flat blade (£7ish from costco).

I wanted to see what could be done with Halfords bits 'n' bobs to just get me by until I get something properly integrated. Photos won't do it justice - it's too fugly... 1 length of washer tubing - clear (there are 2 sizes and I used the larger) 1 non return valve 1 plastic tubing Y piece - in white (can't remember the size of these but pop in the 3.6mm tubing easily) 2 plastic tubing T piece - in white (same size as Y piece) hand full of thin cable ties Cut the tube from the washer pump and plug in non return valve Cut a V in the gutter under the windscreen near the centre (by the bonnet locking mechanism) Run clear tube from non-return valve to end of wiper arm where it joins the wiper Cut clear tube and insert a T piece near the lower edge of the wiper, insert the next T piece near the join between the arm and blade. Add the Y piece to the end of the tubing and position it under the wiper arm at the joint to the wiper so the Y splits either side of the blade. Lash it all to the wiper arm with cable ties. I get a lot of water on the screen now :D Probably not recommended if you value style and looks.

Correct. It was the integrated option and though it dumped a loD of screenwash on the screen the incapability of the wiperblade to dispose of the water put me off competely.

I am still trying to locate this Citroen BX spray bar, but have failed. Have also looked at the Espace combi, but they are about £20 on e-bay and about that including postage on-line.

Have reserved my Chav-chav jets at my local Halfrauds to collect this eve to have a tinker. Though getting at the nut under the guttering at the bottom of the screen may be tricky!

Where have people purchased the BX spray bar? They are mentions all over the historic posts, but nowhere can I see where to actually buy one!
