PaulCPs car showed that it was hard to reach above 181 HP without replacing the stock intake manifold. But as you suggest only replace the stock intake and throttle body would prolly not result in anything. Why increase the "breathing capability" without increasing the breathing?

Think this table show the essence of what my N / A tuning table shows.

So, I assume this kit is realistic for you...
The induction is actually a BMC and the ECU is remapped on RR.

Maybe there is already a thread about this tuning kit?

  Yes, it seems right, on the spot! The 174 BHP is Cheeky's car, with the same mods as this kit. So with a good remap it is realistic! Good price also, only £933! chinky chinky

Great indeed! thumbsup

Have you read this text in the news?
"Opel Speedster
855kg in weight and 148hp original for the 2.2 16v Opel engine... A quick calculation gives us the following info: 6kg/hp. PowerPlus has developped a racing kit which contains airbox, complete stainless steel exhaust, racing cams and ECU modification for a substantial gain of 34hp and 36Nm extra torque! Can a Speedster become even more FUN?!
"

-> 181/182hp! That exactly matches your power chart! chinky chinky

By the end of the month, I will probably do a test with one of their prepared Speedster.
For your information: they told me that the exhaust line is a custom line partially made with Milltek parts.

Yes it's cheap...

The only thing is that in table the 181 HP is WITH ported head. I do not know if that is really needed, don´t think so myself. Is the prices with fitting?

The fitting is included in the price. But I don't know the price for the stage 2 (with racing cams)...

Whats the score with the induction pipe going straight into the engine? (total non-teccie here) Looking closely at the pipccy and their site it seems they have just made up a kit using hoses and a normal induction kit, then fed it straight to the engine. It seems alot of Euro tuners do this to the speedster- moto-concept, power plus, that bloke in the picture on the previous page (with looney looking pipes coming out of engine) Is there no-one in the UK that offers this? It seems logical that to get more air into engine you need cold air feed and large diameter pipe straight to engine? yes/no???? Is this the same as teh (v. expensise) dBilas air thingy? Can you tell I'm new to this?? :P

One aspect with this firms (www.power-plus.be) success to get (or not) 174 hp out of the 2.2 plant is how well they succeed in ramapping it. It seems AmD are the masters right now, Regal (EDS) are down 4-5 % in comparison and the other german firms like Moto-Concept or chiptuning.de might be even worse.

I think the manifolds are the original ones in this kit. You may replace them with the DBilas Manifolds if you wish...
