Because they're a cheap mid engined toy. My wife used to have one and considering getting another.

I don't know if I like either but having just bought a £500 Mk2 mr2 as toy for trackdays while the vx is cooling down I have become

open to a whole world of cheap mid engined rwd cars

might get one when the wife's not looking !

I've been considering an mr2 to use soley for track days. How are they for hammering round a track?

There is a girl at work with a 400 BHP Mk2 MR2, though I can't imagine she exploits it all on her commute into the office. Still, I am sure it will be pretty potent.

It's no wonder the Elise melts alternators, looking at how close that is to the exhaust manifold.

I prefer the vx

we are talking about getting a clio 172 now to add to the group

Mr2 could do with more power and better rear end grip

but maybe changing the rear wheel size and adding a wing could help it out

Cool, good read, the bar is yet to be installed tight so will make those changes once finished, thanks for the link.

Yep, they probably all head to Surrey, park up, break out the picnic basket and lament the passing of Brooklands.
