The translation is supposted to be in english, unless you got yhe cheaper version with just chinese manual :P
http://chucklohr.com...a-4-manual.html

In a nutshell, to start you get about 3 little blinks. it's then running, so NO visual confirmation whatsoever during running.
(hence the concept of spycam)

Sample file: http://www.auto-edit...ve/foto/TAG.zip Extract it, and copy thix text file to the root of your camera memory card. ( so not in a subdirectory or anything) As soon as you start the camera, the built in logic will pick up this file, extract the date/time and will insert it in every movie you will make with it, as from then. (same timestamp for all movies) The logic will automatically delete the TAG file, once loaded in memory, so it looks dissapeared from memory card. To change the date/time copy the TAG.txt with the new date you put in via notepad to the root of your camera memory again. So every date/time change is a new excersize Hope this makes sence.

Didn't get much chance to attach to a car yet but we took them on a family walk and I shot random steam train clips and uploaded one. Just trimmed and titled using Windows Live Movie Maker and uploaded to YouTube using it's built in feature. You can certainly see that frames get duplicated which leads to the occasional stutter. However, I have about 30 minutes of video in all and the quality is way better than it should be for £15 (half camera, half 4GB card).

My steam train video.

Used my spy camera at Goodwood the other day and had great results. I bought 2 cameras and propose to use in a run and standby type of arrangement. I would like to be able to charge one of the cameras from the cars lighter socket. does anyone know of a suitable bit of kit to do this? Cheers in advance.

twin usb cigarette should step down the voltage to 5v supply, then you can use a standard usb A to micro B cable

I have assumed that the same sort of lead you run a TomTom with (12V car socket to mini USB) must be fine and they are cheap as chips on fleabay.

I saw this thread yesterday and loked up these little cameras and for the money I'm quite impressed thumbsup I followed the original ebay link in this thread and checked out the sellers feedback and wasn't confident so searched and found another seller (there are quite few!) I eventually bought two from this listing: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item3a59ca855c

Just had my first play with my camera tonight and I'm not really that impressed. I loaded a 4GB SD card and had a drive around with the camera blue tacked to the top of the windscreen surround and later blue tacked to the dash board.I found the video is very jerky with frames getting dropped with whole sections looking more like a slide show of still photos. Anyone had videos like this? At first I thought is was just bumpy roads but even on the rare sections of super smooth it only manages a few frames before is misses. Could it be the memory card not being able to process the data quick enough?

Could be the card because mine was fairly uninterrupted. But tbh with a £7 camera of course you'll get some.

Standard SD cards will be rubbish. You need SDHC or Class 4 minimum for video/photos thumbsup

I am an E-Commerce Exec for an online company who sells decent compatible cards. The link below is similar to the sort of quality you need to look for.
Micro SDHC

I have the very same card as your link, Kingston SDHC 4GB, I'm always wary about buying cheap cards so tend to stick with a make I am familiar with.
I will continue to play with it, but might just send for a second one from the link you posted. thumbsup

Got mine from these boys,
http://www.memorybit...oducts_id=17868 Its Trascend which are a decent make SDHC and class 6. Don't know how it compares to Kingston but it has lifetime warranty and is a class 6 so for that price can't grumble.
Put Spring12 in the discount code box for 12% off and you also get free delivery. I got mine in two days. Impressive service.
