Noticed at the weekend that my soft top is marked and a bit faded. Looking at other posts, seems to be Renovo or Autoglym as best products Any advice? Cheers Graham

I have used the Autoglym pack on previous cars and it is very good.I done the VX at the weekend but this time I used meguiars all purpose cleaner and then applied Fabsil. It is just as good and works out a bit cheaper.

If money isnt an issue go for the Renovo 3 stage! Ive just used it on mine last week to great effect! Cleaner, then re-colour (dye) finsihed off with a re-waterproofer!

Looks great, as good as new!Posted Image

Chris...

I'm going to add this to the "Running a VX on £5" facebook page.
Hope you don't mind? :)

After you are finished with the washing up liquid, spray some diluted nikwax for tents on it and it'll be super waterproof too! thumbsup

Cheers

Bob

Fabsil for a large tin is approx £15, after 2 years my tin is still half full, so a quick calc works out £3.75 per year so well under the £5 Posted Image could treat it to a magic tree also to get rid of the fabsil smell.

Does anyone apply anything to the softtop inside or doing it all to the outside is enough? Cheers Ray

It's normally enough to do the outside.

having said that, when I first got my car there was mould and mildew on the inside of my hood (it had been in a scrapyard over the winter with one of the windows open Posted Image ), so I cleaned the inside with the Autoglym cleaner, and then treated it with the Autoglm proofer to prevent any reccurance...

Sorry, first soft top car, and probs going to go along the lines of the renovo stuff, as I could do with the colouring, do I need the stuff for canvas roofs? Not vinyl?!

Yes. It works a treat, revived my blue soft top nicely a couple of years back. thumbsup

This is what I used a couple of weekends ago. Seemed to work well when I chucked some water on (not rained since and I wanted to see how well it worked!)
