good blast up the motorway helps centrifuge out the mould release agent and give them a heat cycle.

marshal (kumho) KH35's tomorrow :) Thanks KU31's you lasted 2 years, approx 30Kmiles, a trip to the ring, a hot llandow day, a few minces at combe and a few activity days. Very impressed with them (allegedly the KH35 is the same rubber as the KU31 but a different tread pattern)

30,000 miles?!

I thought I was doing well when I got 12,000 out of them rather than my usual 8,000!

Looking at the rears, they do not appear to have XL markings=extra load , different ply sidewall, like the KU31 have.

Yup.... the KU31's have quite stiff sidewalls. The sidewalls on the 195/40/r17's are so stiff that only people with the correct machinery can fit them.

Good news you are getting them changed as the KH31 is a more mainstream shopping hatchback type of tyre.

Got them changed this morning, no quibbles straight exchange. must say that the difference was instantly noticeable as i don't have to keep correctly the steering any more to keep it in a straight line (worse at speed on motorway going past lorries or vehicles overtaking me).

when they took the KH31s i noticed that the wheel arch lining had been worn by the tyre and the tyre had also been scrapping against the chassis. pays to make sure the correct tyres are fitted.
