Jimmy did you get a discount for being a member on here? I got 10%

Cant recommend them enough knocked £100 off my renewal

He said so, but unless you negotiate your premium without mentioning it, them once you have a final figure then say ".org discount" you can never be sure you are actually getting the discount. To be fair to Chris though he whittled the policy right down for me because he could see I was about to walk... Finally a company that values KEEPING customers thumbsup!!

Richard Egger for me. Mary is ace. No messing about with her, she knows all about these cars. On 5,000 miles (not that I do anywhere near that) just over £300 thumbsup

I'm with A-plan (thatcham branch are really helpful), just because i'm waitng to renew from when i had the RX8. when i asked about quotes ready for renewal i mentioned i wanted trackday cover. they reccomended royal sun alliance, however they don't cover any mods thumbsdown so great for some - not so great for me. I also have a fire claim (accidental) but this always gets registered as an 'at fault' claim, as there was no other party to claim against which sucks! plus i have collected a few 'points' (only 3 current now) so most quotes were £££ thumbsdown i will try Richard Egger, but royal sun alliance may be worht a call if your vx isnt modded at all.

Not sure if this is any use, but here is a list of companies various members have recommended on the forum :

AON http://www.specialistcars.aon.co.uk/
Chris Knott
Adrian Flux 08000 83 88 33
Competition Car Insurance (CCI) 0115 941 5255
Haggerty via Henderson Taylor Insurance 0161 437 7442
HIC https://www.hertsinsurance.com/
Henderson Taylor on 0161 437 7442 (ask for Matthew) http://www.henderson...ntaylor.co.uk/"
Heritage http://www.heritage-quote.co.uk
A-Plan http://www.aplan.co....quote.php?int=0
Admiral http://www.admiral.com
Richard Egger 0115 985 0165
Classic Line

I'm actually with Admiral, although they don't do track days. I figured if I do do track days, then I'd just buy the insurance for the day.

Cheers for the list Bob, will have to have a go through these today.

Looks like I'm being penalized for not lying about my details and having 10 years no claims and no points on my licence.

Time to shop around

No probs mate. Hopefully it should be useful for future reference

Yeah, my list I posted previously

Also apparently, if you run with a company that includes track day cover and then file a claim you lose your no claims bonus, however, going with a third part company won't lose you those no claims as it doesn't count as a road policy?

Not quite Seb, We had our road policy with REIS which included 4 trackdays. For trackday #5 we took out an additional days cover. Jo unfortunately put it into the wall at Eau Rouge (Spa) very lightly, but we were none the wiser (due to extent of damage) and claimed via insurance. We had protected no claims so the no claims bonus part of the policy is unaffected. However, the annual premium over doubled for renewal (yes REIS still insure existing customer VX's, but won't take on new ones) when we queried the increase in premium we were told it was because of the trackday accident and that it still shows as a claim, but doesn't affect no claims bonus (???) We have now gone with CCI for the same premium as last year thumbsup

Also apparently Chris Knott will no longer insure people with over 50BHP or was it 50% (cant remember) increase over standard BHP regardless of anything else (max no claims, long ownership, age, points, etc) so that counts out a lot of modders :( Us S/C ers are running out of options. So far only CCI, Henderson Taylor and Adrian Flux will give me a quote! :(

I can only say NOT to use a company called MarkerStudy (they are an insurer not a broker). Next to fecking uesless, they paid out on a 50/50 without even asking if that was acceptable.

CCI by the best for me. 12 month policy with 6 months on road, 6 months off road ('laid-up). includes 5 free track days for the on road months. mileage for on road 4k. Total cost: £248 28 YO driver with 9 years no claims three points and a fault claim on another car (oops)
