As per Iceman's comments- it simply looks much better IMHO. It's harder to see that unusual vertical line with that oversize Griffin badge (dinner plate) covering it up.

I had a play with photoshop, cloning them out and I think it looks best with the Big Vaux one in the middle and the vx220 one removed.

Rather than de-badge, I've decided to add badges.

Oh for sure you are right to a degree. But i think that if you had a poll to see which of those that had removed their rear griffin had also removed all other visual connections to vauxhall (wheel caps, steering wheel badge and front griffin) you would see very few indeed had tried to disassociate themselves from the brand. Of course i may be wrong but i would set a very high wager that of all those that had debadged, few/less had gone the full hog.
I'm with you on this Norman
What's with all this de-badging, you sound like the people who drive basic Beemers and have them debadged. If you want the apparent cachet of a Lotus badge, you should buy a (girly looking) Elise.
If you want a Lambo or some other Italian exotica, then buy a Panda and save up.
Vauxhall are one of the original sports car manufacturers. They still make hot motors.
Perhaps it's just me, but I like having the apparent familiarity of a badge that everyone recognises, but a car that they usually don't.
OK,over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While I accept that some may like the debadged look, I suspect that others have different motives

I suppose it's the balance of the world on show that we have totally opposing preferences [/grouphug]My personal opinion is to keep the Vauxhall badges but get rid of the VX220 and Turbo badges.
I just think the chavtastic font they've used is terrible. Haven't got round to it yet though.
Good luck with your removal when you get around to it. I hope that there are no marks left and that it's an easy job.

I popped outside yesterday after my last post and whipped the vx220 badge off in a jiffy. Took 5mins max including getting the sticky stuff off and rubbing a little SRP on there to get rid of the VX220 shaped dirt!

2 more factors.....I think the turbo badge keeps people a respectable distance behind you
AND....how easy would it be to stick the badge back on?
It's not worth the trouble trying to re-stick one on, best to buy another one (they come as self adhesive) and put that on.

Have a look a few posts back up at the end of page 1 of this thread. I've just attachd the VX220 and Turbo badges to the Steinmetz-alike front grille that i'd just had fitted. I used double-sided carpet tape which is VERY thin. The badges only make contact with limited parts on the grille but they seem to be staying put OK. Not sure however what the best product to use to attach the badges to paintwork would be.
