cliffe whats the diameter of the opening on the pipercross filter (i.e. what diameter pipe can you stick it on)?? chinky chinky

70mm neck, 200mm OD, 200mm height.

Do they not do an 88mm one? that would be perfect for the diameter of my pipe

Stupid question, if you change from the cs supplied jetex filter to a Apexi do you need the map tweaked?

Far too little in it either way to make bugger all difference.

I changed mine while I was having loads of other things done (waste of money, but thats another story :( ) at the same time and it did go on the dyno. I wouldn't have thought it was a problem, maybe call them?

Sorry Nick, do you mean the filter was a waste of money? Called CS and Mark said he very much doubts that it would make any difference, a bit non-committal but I suppose you can expect that.

Cotton gauze is apparently the best filter material available.

Filter I thought was good, money went on an ecu change which wasn't good

Next mod I would look at is a standard air box this seems to reduce induction noise somewhat probably save a fortune as well

They'll be making cars out of that soon, if you believe the hype behind it.

How easy is it to use the standard air box with the SC conversion? Will it need mounting further in to the wheel arch or is it a case of changing the pipe to the TB to silicone hosing? Thanks

What's the best option for an SC then?

Most people are on the CS supplier blue filter. I'm about to try a Saab 9000 filter with a decent paper filter.

I like your thinking. It looks more like an oil filter than an air filter.

finding an airbox in this country is a challenge though.

Yeah I noticed that too. I suspect it's simply the age of the car, I haven't seen an old 9000 on the roads for a long time.
