Cheers all - top advice - may well have a go at doing it myself after your instructions. In fact, might try doing my mates first so that if a cock it up at least it wont be mine I've ricked!

Seriously, dead easy to do, just swapped mine out as a precaution. If you are careful you can tip it so the coolant goes into the new tank as you remove, thats what I did. However, very easy to drop/ lose the hose clips into the bottom of the engine bay, so either be bloody skilled and professional or have a couple on hand and make sure they are tight. Cheers

Hi all - Just come back from a driving tour in Europe - and both mine and my mate's VX suffered exactly the same problem at the same time on a Swiss mountain pass. The expansion tanks have cracked around where the pipe joins it, and it's gradually getting worse (fortunately both held out for the remainder of the holiday). I have a track day in August, so want to replace it before then, so was wondering if anybody knew the cost of them? If anybody also knows a good VX specialist in the Bristol area who can fit it, then I would be glad to give them my business as I'm a technical numpty

cheers

Andy

It really is an easy fix, but I'm available to hold your hand if you need it ;) Where are you in Bristol?
