Right I've been looking at the kits on Elise-Shop.com More specifically this one http://www.elise-sho...dels-p-373.html Seems mighty expensive and I'm not 100% on THAT specific wheel so was thinking of coming up with my own kit. I just don't know enough about it... Do I have to remove the VX's hub to fit one of these kits? Which wheels are out there that fit the VX's hub? What individual parts do I need to complete the job? Which is the ideal diameter wheel for a VX? Any tips/things to avoid...? Any help appreciated on this cheers guys. Also if anyone wants my original wheel/airbag/squib get your wallets out as they will be for sale soon :)

I have a very similar Sparco steering wheel to that, the middle of mine is a blue that matches my seats.

I changed the crappy yellow lotus badge for the black and chromed copper badge.

Well I fitted a Sparco wheel, 330mm boss required as per Elise shop one (Corsa), most aftermarket wheels will fit that. Also will need a female bullit conector for the horn and a 2.7 Ohm resistor if you want to turn the airbag light off. Also a puller is worth having as if you use the pull with hands while tapping column technique the column can move down. You do have to remove the hub, even the adapters that claim to be able to leave it on don't work, wrong PCD by a mile. I also found I needed a spacer/adjuster to set the wheel where I wanted it.

The irony of this is that until I drove your car at the National I was undecided as to whether or not to go aftermarket!! Yours was the best I saw

:yeahthat:

Also my new seats lean further back so I need to space the hub to get the correct wheel position!

I have a couple of spacers I'm not/wont be using, one is a 20mm and the other is an Omp adjustable which can be 25mm or 34mm. The 20mm you can have for nothing if its any good to you and the Omp one can be V cheap. I'll bring them on Monday if you want to take them and try them.

I used the OMP 4 position adjuster, but only because DT didn't get the momo one I ordered in stock and hence sold me it at about half price as it was a lot more expensive than the momo. Works fine though.
HERE
Could just find out how much you need to space it and make/have made a spacer to save money.

Actually have a couple of ally 50mm spacer rings with the sparco/momo PCD holes drilled through, could be cut down to exact length, I found that if you need 50mm or more bolts are hard to get. You're welcome to one of them if you want it, they are anodised black.

Might take you up on your kind offer boys :)

So to clarify.....

I need the wheel, a spacer (to position the wheel) then one of these adapters http://cgi.ebay.co.u...les_CarParts_SM and that's it...?

To fit the hub boss kit I need to remove the original hub which requires a special tool?
Are there no kits that use the original hub?

not really a special tool, as brute force and patience will work but if you haven't got the arms of Jeff Capes or the patience of a saint then >something like this< would work.
