Neat looking Eunos Interior Steve. It must be a Beast. I would bet that is a bit more seat than I need for my daily rounds, but will put it on the list for further research. I wish I could sit in a VX seat and see how my lower parts fit. I did drive an Elise a few months ago and enjoyed it, but did not focus on the seat's qualities.
I admire how much fun you Brits have with the cars you are allowed to drive and what has come out of your country in the last ten years. The cars being sold here are just getting more powerful and heavier. I Love Simpler cars.

I run Cobra Monaco in my Miata track car, steel framed but cheap FIA approved. They do a GRP bodied version as well.

I thought Corbeau made a suitable seat for VX /Elise widths but nothing looks right in their current product line-up, all too high sided. JK Composites (http://www.jkcomposites.com/) make some VX suitable seats but nothing very informative on their website. See here (http://www.vx220.org...ost__p__1089988) for photos in a VX courtesy of the JJJ track weapon.

I never realised seats were so subjective.

I'm with Steve. The VX seats are the most comfortable I've experienced. OTOH, a steel framed Cobra bucket was the least comfortable.

I'm 6'4" and 100kg odd. I know people who are not as well padded as I complain the VX seat does not grip well enough for track use, but I find it ideal.

:yeahthat:

Although I am a bit more than the 100Kg... must be my brain
Seats grip PERFECTLY!!!! I prefer the cloth to leather for year round comfort too.

I had carbon Recaros in my MX-5 and they were way way more comfortable than the VX seats.
Fairly rare seats though (as fitted in the mark 1 Miata RS)

Very neat. Recaro in North America does not sell a seat that will fit a Miata. Will keep my eyes open for that one. Did it require custom mounts?

no, they didn't need custom mounts - they actually came from the Mazda factory with these seats fitted (albeit in the rather rare RS special edition)

Thanks for all the repsonses , especially considering I am not a VX220 owner (A sure sign that VX owners are auto enthusiasts 1st). Just wondering one thing. How do you find the entry /exit ease with your VX seats? I live in the city, so pop in and out many times a day. I think a seat that is too competition oriented would not be ideal, as it would be tedious to slide in and climb out that often. The stock Miata seat is quite poor in all regards, but it is designed to let you get in and out easily.

You should have no problem getting in/out of them. They have very low profile side thigh and rib bolsters for sports seats. The biggest problem for us is how wide the sills on the car are.

Aha. Corbeau LE pro. £550 from Demon Tweaks  Not sure about suppliers in Canada but the seats mount on to VX/Elise frames. Look very similar to VXR220 and sports Elise seats. Low sides and slim enough to fit. Decent padding but still "sporty" :D I want some

Those look nice. I would guess the wide head covering makes checking your blind spot a little difficult? Will consider those.
