So having picked up my VXT two weeks ago, and driving it the 450 miles back from Scotland i've finally given it a quick wash (and jet-washed the underside in a bid to remove as much salt as possible). Probably should have taken some pics of it dirty and posted in the Mucky thread...
Anyway, took a couple of pics after washing it.
They're nothing exciting as not only was i learning to use a new camera (with a dodgy lense), but the light was fading very quickly and the car is black on black... so not the punchiest pics.
There's no wax or anything on the car, it's simply been washed and dried and some tyre dressing applied. At some point i'll get some wax on it and take some photos in the sunshine!
For now though these will have to do
Carbon ears
Carbon racing mirrors
Full Larini
More to come...

Interior
Boost gauge
Cosmetically the car doesn't need much doing really. I think i'd like to have the screen surround wrapped to match the rest of the car - either black or carbon effect. The wheels will benefit from a refurb at somepoint as there has either been a reaction below the paint or they weren't cleaned/blasted properly before the last refurb (there's some minor raised 'strings' and bumps coming through) and that's about it i think.
Anyway, i'm pretty happy with the look of it, just need to work on sorting out any performance issues with it.
cheers,
G

Looks absolutely mint mate, getting that surround wrapped will definately be a bonus.
Offer to use my OpCom stands!
Thanks mate. I'm pretty happy with it, but yeah the screen surround def needs a wrap! I'll let you know about the OpCom
Looking good, cant beat black car with black wheels
The exhaust tail pipes look like they are pointing up? Which exhaust is it?
DG
It's a full Larini system, fitted Dec 2007. So should they not be pointing up slightly? The last photo was taken from really low, so might be exaggerating the angle a little? I'll try and have a closer look at somepoint to check out the angle.

Nope, they should be parallel to the ground. Luckily, as it's a Larini, you've got a separate tailpipe section so this just needs loosening off and the tailpipes rotated down a bit and then re-tightening.
VX tailpipes don't usually point up.
...Nice photos, great looking car.
Ah well, looks like i'll be having it straightened at some point, though it's not anything urgent i suppose.

Graeme,
How do you find your boost gauge where it is? I'm considering where to mount three of my gauges but i'm a bit stumped.
Aaron
Looks nice fella (I would say that as its the spitting image of mine!! )
Ive mounted my boost gauge in the dash, between the starter button and the instruments. Looks lush...

Carbon racing mirrors
Great looking mirrors.
What is the little thing / device on top of the passenger side mirror?

Whos a lucky boy?
Its stunning. She shines well.
Yeah, i'm pretty impressed with the paintwork. As i said, that's no wax or polish, just a simple wash and dry after the horrendous weather we've had.
Great looking VX that would benefit from a 3/4 sized plate
Already on the 'to do list'
Very nice Graeme!
Thanks mate, i'm pretty happy with it. Even if it's not orange
Graeme,

Honestly?
In my previous car (saab turbo) i used a graduated gauge for setting up the boost, and then reverted back to the standard un-marked factory gauge thereafter. As such, i'm, not fussed about using it all the time, though it has been handy for seeing what is happening with my 'flatspot'.
Where it is now, is great in that it's not necessarily obvious and looks almost like it was meant to go there. However, it is obscured by the steering wheel a little, and ideally it would be nearer eye level, especially if you want to look at it and accelerate hard down the road. If you're going for a permanent install and are likely to be keeping an eye on it then i'd mount i higher.
Obviously if you see my car you'll be able to make your own mind up.

Thanks,
I have a thing about black cars and dark wheels.
The girlfriend has a black Pug 306 D-turbo with anthracite 205GTI speedline alloys and my previous car was a classic 3dr Saab 900 Turbo with anthracite wheels. So it's in keeping with the theme!
Carbon racing mirrors
Great looking mirrors.
What is the little thing / device on top of the passenger side mirror?
That's just an allen bolt to tighten them into position, nothing as complicated as a device on these - in keeping with the car!
