I take it with you saying hammerite & the small amount of masking on the front grill that you brush painted this on? I was thinking about freshening mine up in the same way but couldn't make my mind up if I should use a spray can or brush it on from a tin. How has the finish come out in the flesh? Looks good in the pics.

Better than leaving it with no paint
It's mainly down to how hammerite dries, if you go over the wrong section again it can smear it and not look quite as shiny as the rest, but you really need to be like 6 inches away to see anything.
