Hi All

Has anyone got experience of Adrian Flux and their agreed value?

I'm looking to take out a policy for a VX220 with a couple of minor mondifications and was after an agreed value with them.

But when I asked what the value will be, they said it isn't agreed until the policy is taken out and a form with four pictures is sent back.

The car is a 2004 Turbo. Has anyone had previous experience with this and can tell me what values their cars were assessed at?

Cheers

Mine is on agreed value with them. I proposed a value filled in the form and sent the pics in. They agreed with my valuation and the policy was sent. Pretty easy process really. Mines not a turbo so my valuation isn't that relevant . I am happy with it though.

I decided not to go through this malarkey with Flux when I took a policy with them, plus it was an extra 15 quid iirc. I still believe they'd offer a lower rate in the event of a total loss.

I am not planning on testing them. I would hope that the agreed value was binding though in the event of total loss.

I think it's just a higher starting point, so yes, you'd be better placed in any argument :)

When I used AF I went down the declared value route.  Agreed a value of £15k a couple of years ago.  In the event of a total loss they would have to pay out the value you had both agreed on  thumbsup

They will agree the value with you before you take out the policy but you need to send photos and the completed form stating what value you want and pay £15 or alternatively they will accept a third party valuation. Their quote will include an extra £39 on top of your standard premium to include the agreed value, which will be stated on your insurance certificate and is the amount that will be paid out if your VX is stolen or written off, so worth having if you consider the CAP market value for a 2004 VXT is less than £10k versus the true cost of replacing a modified VXT

I would also try Classicline Insurance who will price match, include free breakdown cover and provide an agreed value. My 2004 stage 4 VXT has an agreed value of £16,750

Yeh I asked if I could have it valued before the policy is taken out but they said it was done after and if I didnt like the valuation I could have the £39 refunded. But thats no good to me because the policy is worthless without it as i might as well get a standard policy with someone else and get GAP insurance. Tried classicline but they just sent me across to a third party who were rubbish. Its a fairly standard VXT except for a stage 1. If I was to go out and get a standard VXT with low miles it would cost £13k ish yet market value is less than £10k.just want it to cover the difference. Not even bothered about the mods

Try Henderson Taylor, they don't have a form to complete, you just need a third party valuation

So if I said 13k for a 2004 VXT with 27k miles id probably be safe? Tried Henderson Taylor but wouldn't offer me agreed value because you have to be over 30 (im 29) and they said couldnt be modified

JG has his car insured for a quite frankly ridiculous amount. This meant that he was able to have a simple claim when he pulverised a dog, instead of his car being instantly written off with front clam and headlight damage. thumbsup

Try Herts Insurance as they also provide agreed value
