Hi All, Just had the car serviced today but my oil filter housing has been done up so tight that they couldn't undo it :( They say they can get it off but it might break the cap/housing :( So does anyone have a spare cap and housing they can sell me? they are a special order item from Vaux aparently so could be up to 2 weeks. Chances are I wont need it but if someone has one on standby that would be great :grouphug:

Nope, they're not. I replaced mine on the new engine but it instantly did the same thing again. Hopefully, Muncher's contact will be able to make a tool to properly torque the main adaptor section up, so we can then just loosely tighten the cap.

These were on European back order when I checked recently. Hope they've made some more.

 another cracking Vauxhall rip off! lol

I was told it would most likely be the O ring (item 14) that would damage when forcing it undone is this not the case?

I have encountered some extremely tight oil filters, but a 3 foot prybar will loosen them :P
