@dominik Quality of the core is important when comparing to other intercoolers as well.

I know, and that is what all the tuners say.
But how do I know which core is better than the others?????
And how do they compare to each other???

It's a tricky one that. I guess it's a case of speaking to your chosen tuner for more info & then doing your research on the manufacturing companies, they're products, quality & opinions of people who have them.

I was happy to order as I've had stuff from them before on a previous car & was pleased with the quality & performance last time round of the things I had made.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

Ok, must refrain from profanities. First of all there are pictures of the intercoolers on scales. Secondly the fully fabricated units are lighter than the recore. Thirdly, what does weight have to do when comparing the performance between intercoolers? I've changed from a standard intercooler to the Mmg one. I noticed an improvement in performance, both from an increase in power (not my primary reason or changing) but also to not having a dip in power in power due to heat (especially when its a warm day). I hope that helps. If you are local, and when i am back from holiday, you are welcome to a pax ride to see what you think.

Nothing. But why should I add weight to a light car.

No I´m not local. I´m living in Germany.
I have already a bigger intercooler, installed by Klasen. The unit is lighter than the original.
I also felt an improvement. But for the money I could have done better thing to the car.
And he also tell´s the customers that he uses the best available core. Like all tuners do.
The improvement is not as big as always is told. I still see temperatures over 80 degrees whilst accelerating.
With the Standard one I saw about 10 degrees more. But temperature was rising and falling slower, because of the heavier construction of the original intercooler.

Does anyone have proven dyno figures after fitting one of these IC's with further remap tweek? Going by the pics I'm not totally convinced on its size compared to OE cooler. I'm running 233 bhp (stage 2) and would love to get circa 260-270 bhp. Thanks.

@dominik - sorry didn't see your post before fitting so didn't get a chance to measure / weigh the thing - sure if you contact MMG they can supply the details for you.

@herbie147 I've fitted the intercooler and the car will be on the Novatech rolling road this Saturday.

On Courtenay's rolling road it made 258bhp/291lbft back in February.

I've not done any other mods since Feb, so, assuming the car is in good health, and, assuming Novatech's rolling road read is identical to Courtenay's and ambient temperatures are the same etc. etc. etc. the results may, or may not, tell us anything.

Thanks.

233 bhp for a stage 2? Seems a little low. And the intercooler isn't intended to give you a big power boost. It is primarily to help keep the intake temps down, making it more responsive. You may gain a few extra bhp.

Yes it did. I think Liam has a couple of intercoolers left as some people dropped out. Not sure on the price as the group buy has finished, but I can ask him if you are interested?

I see your down slightly on BHP and Torque? Posted Image Every rolling road is different I suppose.

Yeah its lower figure than I would expect. Previous owner said it was a hot day when it was being remapped Posted Image 233bhp and 280 torques it made on the day.

Also interested in dumping it on him for some more booooost at the same time.

Good call. I don't mind giving you a pax in mine to give you an idea of what you may get, esp as you are local.

I'll speak to him, see what I can do for you.
