Hi all I know that there was some chat with regards to this but what is the best way of diagnosing where to start? I do not think they have ever worked, although tough to know, from when I bought her. Any help as ever is very much welcome. Cheers CT

I would go for the order: 1. Check the bulb 2. Check the connection (follow the cable as a connector can work loose it dangles round about the engine cut off switch) 3. Check the switch on the gear box Snap with size 10 thumbsup

Clear lens which I think is on the right. Fog on the left (red lens).

Correction... (assuming we are talking about a RHD VX)

The reversing light is on the left. The passenger side.

I had the same problem last week. Took the switch out, sprayed with WD40 plunged the plunger a few times, refitted and it's worked ever since! thumbsup

Reverse light switch. Where's the best place? Err, Vauxhall, I guess. There's also millions of the feckers on eBay as they're the same on most Vauxhalls.

Seriously.... Before changing the switch unplug the wire from it and spray the connectors with WD40 and refit.... Worked on mine. Saves the hassle and expense if it isn't really needed. thumbsup

Mine still didn't work, but a 19mm spanner can be used to undo the switch, I spayed it with contact cleaner and pushed on the end it's like a plunger switch work it a few times and refit. Works ok now.

Switches are about 3 quid. Easy to test when removed.
