Mine was straight forward in a mk2 'scort. 2 bolts on the engine mounts and the gearbox mount and haul the beast out. Had a T56 attatched which weighs a ton!

pretty much a jet engine then and the 4pot was simply there to start it

You know what it is then. Mention GBA and most people stare blankly.

Edit to add some auto porn...

Yep that's the one! It has problems with bellhousing shims or something at the moment. They had to use an earlier 5 speed box which was missing an adapter plate to make it work ok. I'll post up some more pics when George brings it in to work.

It sounds like a good idea to me. A high torque figure from 1000 revs would be nice. I wonder if a supercharger kit exists for it ?!

Look into it even donw to measuring bits up - It will fit just (I think  ) but turbo is far easier
Twin turbo v6 a la Vectra VXR any one :)
Oh Heck I now have started thinking again :D

I do agree The modern alloy GM Narrow angle V6 are very good engines Wasn't that one those that was fitted to the original Lotus Sport widebody Exige ? The last iteration found in the 2011 Camaro with integrated exhaust manifolds is an extremely impressive package; shame it is direct injection as it makes things a bit more complicated for standalone ECUs

You mean standalones are still half a decade behind the OEM's who are half a decade behind some technology
A decent Derv standalone (hardware) would do the trick

I guess the more complex standalone ECU's become, the more difficult they are to program and map, therefore possibly a smaller number of specialists, and a larger number of bodgers..!

The current (LLT, I think) GM 3.6L V6 in use in US cars (e.g. Camaro) can be picked up for ~$1000 complete on US Fleabay... Group buy anyone?
