Just wondering. What exactly is needed for stage 3, just chargecooler and remap? How much would stage 3 be fitted and i dont want to start a tuner war but which tuner is cheaper and seems to offer more power?

Stage 3 is exhaust, chargecooler/intercooler and remap. Courtenay, MMG, Thorney (I think) and possibly AmD do them. Only MMG uses intercooler, others use chargecooler. As a result I believe MMGs is the cheapest but not sure. Turbobob has MMG stage 3 so you can ask him about performance. There are a number of Courtenay stage 3 owners around, first name that springs to mind is Whiteboy who used to have a stage 3. Not sure of prices but since yours is stage 2 you only need the IC/CC- in which case I would imagine MMG is by far the cheapest (as the chargecooler is the expensive part of stage 3)

Cheers that was great. So whats the difference between the chargecooler and intercooler? I know the chargecooler will be better because of more air but is there any difference performance wise between the two and can you go to stage 4 with the intercooler? Cheers

Oh and what BHP is stage 3? Is there much a difference over stage 2

You probably need to learn that there is a lot more to having a quick car than BHP (unless You're a dick swinger in the pub) You should ask to see power graphs to see how the power is delivered, how much torque is produced and when. What's the point of 300bhp if most of it isn't available until after 5000rpm

Good man. You've beaten the bet I had with myself that you'd be wanting to upgrade within a fortnight of getting the car. Why not see what, if anything, is wrong with your existing car and actually get used to driving it first?

Bloody hell i was just wondering. God you lot are a right pain in the arse its unreal. I asked a question doesnt mean im going to do it NOW, i dont have the money at the minute anyway. Obviously im going to look at getting the car sorted first and then a good set of tyres, getting used to the car and so on but this is a forum... didnt think there was any harm in asking that

And the name calling has started Posted Image

This should be fun.

I agree with techie, get used to driving it first. In you're other thread you said " i've had a scare or two in the wet" and you'd only just bought it, if i was you id want to get used to the power its got at the moment rather than giving it more... just my opinion though Posted Image

Edit: balls you edited yours post, no more name calling Posted Image

How much more for stage 4? Is it the VXR turbo and clutch?

I was just going to say that another reason you may not get good responses to these questions is because this stuff has been done to death. Do yourself a favor and do a little research first and see if you can answer all your own questions first.

Try going to courtenay motorsport website and look at thier stage tuning for the VX turbo and you will at least know what is involved in each stage (for them) and the bhp produced and the cost.

Oh and just to add - if you had wanted to go stage 3/4 you should have bought one already done - you'd save yourself thousands!!!

You come accross as being totally obsessed with BHP and "smoking others" (whatever that means,i assume some sort of illegal substance)

If you don't like being patronised grow up! Then you will find this a welcoming, friendly and informative place
