i am thinking that if you wield two Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa's together and then ride it Ben Hur style you will be approaching where you want to be performance wise (and handling wise)

BTW was the recall on the vxr air-con ever done on yoursPosted Image

In you're other thread you said i've had a scare or two in the wet

:yeahthat:

I'd at least give yourself a couple of months. Front wheel drive astra to Rwd stage 2 tubby has to be a learning curve for anyone I would think. This isn't meant to be patronising, although it probably is and I understand that your just looking at prices. Maybe I'm getting old...

Also I would advise that consider what you are looking for... Are you after mid range grunt or liner power delivery that makes you want to chase the red line? This church appeals to many denominations! Best regards and have fun, Paul

Anything less than being the fastest car on the (private) road seems to be a bit of a let down to him.

Bloody hell i was just wondering. God you lot are a right pain in the arse its unreal. I asked a question doesnt mean im going to do it NOW, i dont have the money at the minute anyway. Obviously im going to look at getting the car sorted first and then a good set of tyres, getting used to the car and so on but this is a forum... didnt think there was any harm in asking that

You come accross as being totally obsessed with BHP and "smoking others" (whatever that means,i assume some sort of illegal substance)

If you don't like being patronised grow up! Then you will find this a welcoming, friendly and informative place

I've only just seen this thread. I've been away for a few days. Spuk, have I actually got stage 3???? I have stage 3 power by Courtenays standards. But I'm running the MMG stage 2 map with an uprated intercooler. Stage 3 is a bit of a grey area, and not many go there. They normally go to stage 4. However, the difference in cost between a stage 2 and stage 4 is quite a lot because of the extra hardware. To eek anymore power out of mine, I would really need the clutch changing, or run the risk of screwing up the standard clutch. I'm already well over it's 'rated' spec anyway.

Ah yeah forgot you're on the stage 2 map still. Grey area as you say. It's stage 3 hardware with a scaled-back map so it's stage errrr...Posted Image. I presume you're holding back the map for the clutch's sake then? I would've thought you can probably squeeze more top end power but leave the low end torque the same, that shouldn't negatively affect the clutch then should it?

As slindborg says (but a little more scaled down  ) stage tuning is a bit grey. In one sense I could argue I have stage 3, as I have stage 3 power, i.e. about 260 bhp. But the other argument is that I don't have all stage 3 hardware / software. I wouldn't call my map scaled back as such. It's a map that is designed to suit the hardware.

Both my torque and power are well over the standard clutch rating. So I'm already on thin ice. And to be honest, I am really happy with the car and the way it performs. The new intercooler has helped it's responsiveness. And I know its given me a few bhp extra (but I don't know how many extra though)

I've been thinking about which way to go, chargecooler or MMG intercooler and i think im going to go with the intercooler. How much did it cost and did you fit it yourself? DIY job?

I had my car for around 6 months and decided to go for a stage 2, the increase in performance is dramatic (I had a charge cooler fitted at the same time). I then went to stage 4 but included suspension mods, and a new clutch to deal with the power. As has already been said you would have been better off buying one already at stage 4. My total cost to have all this done was around 10k. Performance is stunning and handling top class, but it all depends what you want and how much you are prepared to pay. Great cars and great fun.
