fuse FR2 powers K18, so best check that is ok (located next to the three relays in the boot) ps: I checked TIS and the vxT uses normal relays, so the grey relay should be fine

Ive tried all of the above, all fuses are fine & firmly in their place. Regards the fuel squirting out of the pressure release, it was more of a trickle. Its exactly the same as when it happened before (when replacing the relay in boot worked) so i cant see why replacing the relay again hasnt worked this time? Could it be the MAF?

Sorry to ask again can you hear the pump if not try hard wiring it by putting positive power straight to pump .

If it is working but only a trickle I would say pump fcuked or blocked I have a spare standard pump you could have to check . Is you throttle body opening and closing when ignition turned on as s/c cars if t/ b fcuked plays about with pump and injectors error codes etc

Sounds like pump to me sounds stupid but if you got another car and plum there fuel line into your fuel line and if car runs fine it's your pump . Hope you get it sorted if you need this spare pump give me a shout ;-)

You can "hotwire" the pump through the impact switch near the gearbox. Remove the connector underneath and put 12V on the wire, as that is a direct feed to the pumpmotor. See:
http://www.speedster...Fuel%20pump.pdf
(switch S94 & pump M21)

Not sure if both colors are violet, but 12v on pin 1 of the connector should do it.
If that does not help (and you really have enough fuel in the tank) your pump is knackered.

I can't get that link to work? I used the coil tester and they all have spark. What's the easiest way to test the pump? Take the fuel line of the rail and turn ignition?

sounds similar to my problem - although I have good pressure in my fuel rail after swapping relay from the front but still wont fire. Coil pack has only done about 500 miles too :o

I have changed the plugs, coilpack & fuel filter now but it still wont fire, there is pressure in the fuel rail (more than before?) so would the car would try & start with the fuel thats in the rail? Should i put some vxr injectors in & try it then to see if all 4 std injectors are gone? Should the fuel relay click when put into the block when key is position 1?

Spoke to an automotive electrian today & he reckons if its not a visable break in the wire its the ecu packed up! CAn the stage 2 data be saved from the old ecu & put onto a new one if it is at fault?

Dude, I keep seeing this thread and wishing it'd be sorted but you're having some serious grief with this :( Wish I had some spare time to come and have a crack at this with you but I'm uber busy!!!! Would be suprised if it were the ECU. Who did the map...? If it was Courts then you might be ok as they assume that you've bought the rights to the map and will usually not charge again but transfering it to a different chip can create confusion. LeeVX2.2 is going through a similar issue with transferring a map drop him a pm mate, good luck thumbsup

This thread is taking forever:
- Check your ecu for any fault codes => immobiliser/key fault code and your car will never start. (buy/borrow a reader. Reprogam immo with Opcom)
- Check if your fuelpump runs and gives pressure => fab/buy/borrow a fuel pressure gauge and check your base pressure of 3.8 bar. Maybe remove complete fuelrail with injectors and see (on a rag f.i.) if they spray good and strong.
Check ignition for sparks. Not sure how to easily check this on the Z22 coilpack and if the plugs work when removed from the cylinders (compression sense stuff) Borrow another pack and exchange. (capacitor still earthed to ground?)
- Check you engine for mechanical malfiunctions, like a simp le compression check.
.......
