The problem I had with cold 1155s must have been down to the disks,Drilled and grooved but old and well worn.

Just put new standard disks on with new 1155s and the brakes are better from cold and wet than my standard pads and are very very good.

Did not realize just how sh** my old disks and pad have been.I think it just creeps up on you,I must have just gradually pressed harder without realizing.

First stop today and I got whip lash,Like a kid with a new toy ,keep trying them

Oh and I borrowed a tool to push the rear pistons in,that was a good plan,only took seconds.

So its a big yes to 1155s from me .(with decent disks that is )

So last time did you put on new 1155s with old disks? I have to say for the cost of new standard disks I think I'll just do them each time I do the pads.

No I had old disks with old 1155s, then I put in some ferrodo pads on the old disks.

Unless the disks are very good I think your right.

Exactly what i do - pikey £25 a corner discs changed every pad change.

£13 for Mintex disks you have got to be kidding me.I just paid £200 for disks and 1155 pads all round and that was on offer.

How the hell can someone sell mintex disks for £ 13

So am I ,and yes you are right,Only down side I can see they do not have a lot of meat on them so may not last long,but who gives a sh** if they stop so well

Given the pads would cost about £130, I don't think £70 for 4 discs is that terrible

Well when you put it like that

When you see all the steel and feel the bloody weight and all the machining and the vents and so on on the disks you would expect the disks to cost a lot more than a blob of compound stuck on a tinny steel plate.Suppose its mass production disks v small sale of 1155s.

I ran 1155s for years. They were fine from cold. Never tried 1144s.

Have to say that after trying the 1155s, and having never tried the 1144s, I'm not sure why anyone would bother with the 1144s.

Well after fitting new Mintex Discs and the M1155 pads all round with fresh fluid 2 weeks ago I must say that braking is now top notch! A lot more initial bite than the M1144's and a lot less brake dust. Also even with hard braking in both the wet and the dry my ABS has not gone into Ice mode once. For £200 its the best maintenance/mod spend I have made on the car!
