Surely it is worth it, even a relatively simple spin could lead to flying into the Armco, had this a lot when racing, ESP if some dickhead is driving beyond their experience and spins infront of you,

Luck of the draw I guess. I drive within my limits and only over take on a straight. Don't tail gate the chap in front and give distance for others. The money you would spend and the hudge excess don't really do it justice for me. Like I say though, all IMO. Others wouldn't dare set foot on track without insurance.

CCI road policy includes insurance for 5 trackdays a year. I believe they also so standalone track cover though.

Just don't crash. If you are going with a good operator it should be nice and safe.

Even if you can get insurance the excess will probably more than your cars worth!

I'd guess the guy in the M3 at Snetterton last week wish he'd had some insurance. Looked like slightly more damage than the £11K his car was worth thumbsdown Difficult to drive within the limits when the conditions are really variable, unless you stay in the pits I suppose

Competition insurance is widely available and quite affordable.

MIS Motorsport as well. Then move your insurance to a company that give you built-in trackday cover next renewal. It's quite possible that it might still be chepear to bin your current policy and move to CCI or similar anyway.

My CCI Road policy is £295 on a stage 2 SC or £425 including commuting. When you think it would be £100+ per trackday anyway I'm quids in.

If it helps anyone; I got quoted from CCI for Brands Hatch on the 14th december at £88 for my N/A valued at £7k. That has a £700 excess on it. haven't yet decided whether to A) take the insurance B) Even take the VX to Brands, might just use a mates track prepped MX-5.

FTR CCI is £10 per £1,000 of vehicle value (plus an admin fee of £18ish) and the excess is 10% of vehicle value chinky chinky. My insurance is with them and I pay £510 including 6 track days (2 of which can be in Europe). If I insured all 6 days seperately it would cost me £88 a pop..... or £528. Win :D

Yep, that matches exactly! LOL I won't be doing enough track days in the VX to justify getting my insurance through CCI, not at the moment anyway, but (for the OP) I'd never track a car like the VX without insurance, it would only take a small off (not even by you) and you could be faced with a huge bill. You can't just knock the dents out of our little cars.

For the record I have done 10+ track days without insurance, I have only insured wet days or late in the season.
