Thanks, ordered and installed Torque Pro to my phone.

Hopefully will capture some data

In order to get added boost values from your MAP sensor, assuming it's measured in kPa as it is on the NA, you subtract 100kPa (which is the background atmospheric pressure) from the absolute reading and then multiply by 0.14503773773020923 (probably don't need that level of accuracy  ) to get the actual added boost (i.e. what a boost gauge would display) in psi. Or multiply the kPa figure (less the 100kPa) by 0.01 to get the added boost in bar.

I just searched for Bluetooth obd reader on ebay. There's sh*t loads, can anyone recommend one as tried and tested unit, or at least tried and tested seller?

or are they enough of a standard to just grab any type these days?

They're pretty much all of a muchness these days but I got a couple of these as they have the latest ELM327 v1.5 firmware and they also have a built-in power switch, so you can leave them plugged in long term, with no worry of battery drain.

Why can't I find one for the iPhone?
Abuse welcome :)

Take your pick, muppet. :P

You need a wifi version as Mr Jobs decided that you should only be allowed to connect to handsfree via Bluetooth and you couldn't be trusted to connect to anything else without the 3rd party manufacturer paying the Apple Tax. There's even a nice white rounded off edges version available to match the iCack styling.

Yep. Scangauge is great for instantaneous readings and displaying and resetting fault codes.

But, if you really want to do some analysis, nothing beats being able to properly log 5/10/60 minutes worth of multiple sensor data and look at it in detail, at your leisure. And being able to do that with your phone in your pocket, instead of laptop wedged in precariously somewhere is great.

And how much of a premium did you pay for the privilege of having it?

Bluetooth devices work fine with twatphones. We know that, as the TomTom GPS antenna works fine. You just pay 10x the going rate for whatever it is to have gone through the Jobs Value Added Tax Apple approval process and getting it licensed. A jail broken twatphone with a proper Bluetooth stack loaded on it, works a treat. But you're not grown up enough in Apples eyes, to be able to pair a £10 Chinese GPS/OBD2 interface to your phone, it all has to be curated.

ETA: $100 for the twatphone version and $135 for the twatphone and android version. Bargain. Posted Image

log rpm, IA temp, Ign timing, MAF, short term fuel trim I have not tested the bluetooth setup on the VXT yet, but have on the boxster and apart from an annoying pairing problem with wrong pin being misreported it works okay.

The way I describe CC'ing to people is simple. Blow on your finger. Now stick yer finger in yer gob, wet it, then blow on it again - which feels cooler - thats charge cooling Posted Image

Sorry to be 9 years late correcting this, but that's cobblers.

That's not charge cooling, that's cooling through evaporation - in other words like having an intercooler with a water spray on the outside.
